It's probably completely taken out of context. Kerber seems like a nice girl. I don't think she would blatantly disrespect the Brussels tournament.

I still can't understand why this tournament is a Premier. That draw is pathetic.

#1 player entered the tournament like copenhagen also premier tournament
copenhagen 2011, seed 1 = rank 1, seed 2 = rank 32

the #1 player was wozniacki:worship::worship::worship:

Sad to see how quickly spoiled kids develop an attitude, how about being a bit humble about the lifestyle you get to enjoy?

"...not as pretty as Rome or Paris" sounds a little too coincidental with Brussels' CEO Dominique Monami's earlier quip "[Kerber] may not have the looks of a Kournikova or Ivanovic..." :oh:

Given the [dubious] source, I would caution restrain on getting on her Kerber case.

With that said, I must admit it was tempting to make this comment after what the tournament official said about her.

Still, I would have preferred she takes the high road, and I hope and wish this is not from her.

You can't blatantly disrespect the Brussels tournament.
because t is already blatantly disrespecting itself.

You and some other guys here might have missed NA_MUGs
thread on this.

Since days my colleagues and me are joking about
the stupidity of the girl in this article:

http://www.wta-brusselsopen.com/news-day-2012-195.html

A tournament where she signs as a director is a no go.

- Proofs to have level of education and style on all time low
- Not only talks bullshit but even makes it public
- As a WTA tournament director does not know much about
Wimbledon (at least not who have been in the semis 2011 there)

I just thought about being Kerber having had enough matches
in Rome would be clever not to go there if not getting an ebhanced
financial compensation.

the tour is starting to get a bit like the late 1990s where we had bitchy players on tour and said what was on their mind

Adds a bit color to the tour and that can't be bad thing can it

What did the tournament official say?

Here we go

....

Who are the players to watch at this years Brussels Open?

I will particularly follow Agnieszka Radwanska, who is improving almost every month.
I have high hopes as well for the two Germans, Kerber and Goerges.
Especially Kerber is an interesting player.
She was the first German girl since Steffi Graf to reach a semi final of a Grand Slam (U.S.Open 2011).
She may not have the looks of a Kournikova or Ivanovic but she sure can play some nice tennis

A tournament official should never say such a thing, period.
It does not matter whether it applies to a particular player or not.

Mind you, this official is a young woman herself.
