if wozniacki remains at #8 until copenhagen 2013 and 1 of top 7 decides to play in copenhagen 2013, cowoz will not eligible to play there...would the organiser going to cancel the tournament 2013?

all 3 are great and have slams....

Safina has Gold coast, the slow court slam
JJ has Marbella, the clay slam
Woz has copenhagen the indoor slam

Safina > Wozniacki > Jankovic

Safina and Woz are really close, but Safina had the GAME to win a grand slam. She just mentally fell apart at the final hurdle. Woz is a mental GOAT, but doesn't have the game, as it stands, to win one without the right draw.

By the way, Empress. Her peak years were in a relevant era of tennis, not in 2009-2011 :tape: she has the most entertaining game and has that legendary h2h with the sisters. Peasants could never.

Caro is the NEW-HAVEN-GOAT (4 times champ)

No other player has done that besides Venus Williams

But Safina is the best, by far.

Dinara had the most potential, her huge ground strokes were lovely to watch when she was playing well. A player with Safina's strokes and Wozniacki's head would have probably won a Slam in this era

Peak Empress was a perfect example of a counter puncher and is probably in the middle Dinara and Caro as far as skill and mentality goes. Kudos to her for having a world class BH though.

That wasn't peak Safina - her spine was already majorly fractured by then and she didn't make a single QF for the rest of the year after that tournament.

By contrast, Safina beat Jankovic twice a few weeks before Jankovic made the only Slam final of her career.

I dont know how u define "peak" but for me, dinara was number 1, made the tier 1 final, had made the french open final just over a month ago....cmon ur not fooling anyone. That injury of hers didnt happen over night btw, it happened over months when she was still at her "peak"

And I did not make the comment that JJ could make mincemeat out of Safina in her peak......u were the one who said that about Safina. I am just trying to show u that its not true and that both players have beaten each other at different times (although JJ has won the most important ones - Charleston final and Cincinatti final)

^ Safina's "peak", i.e when she played her best tennis, was not in 09. It was in the latter part of 2008, from about LA to Tokyo where she went 24-2 - with the two losses being her typical big match headcase blips (USO SF & Beijing F). She beat JJ twice in that time, when Jelena was, arguably at her best too.

Jankovic's performance in her only slam final is more impressive than Safina who is more impressive than Wozniacki.

I think Jankovic would've won that US Open if it was anyone else but Serena in that final. Unlucky.

Safina is technically the best player but she is mentally weak. And Wozniacki is just not a good player at all.

Wozniacki played a good match in the final, she even served for the first set.

Woz as #1 was a flop at the slams. Her slam final wasn't on her rank when she became #1 either.

JJ only played one slam as #1 and flopped.

Dinara's Rome/Madrid/RG F run, then after that Wimbledon SF I think was the best run as the #1 between these three.

you are degrading safina's accomplishments by saying 09 was not her peak - she made 2 slam finals, won "rome and madrid" and other tournys, gained the no1 rank, made it to wimbledon 09 sf, and Cincinati final where she lost to JJ. So yes, she did lose to JJ in her peak.

I can argue too that JJ's peak was USO final and afterwards.....but then I woould sound like you

Regardless of her results, if you watch her matches the tennis she was playing was not as good as it was at the end of 08.

In fact, it's actually a compliment to her to say she achieved all of the above whilst not playing her best, in 09 (baring Madrid and Rome maybe) the tennis she was playing was far less aggressive and dominating, often she'd be camped far behind the baseline grinding instead of pounding winners, like she was in 08.

3. Jankovic
4. Wozniacki

Caro and Safina are quite close in terms of accomplishment. But at 21 Caro is still in the early phase of her career and could yet win lots of big titles. Jankovic doesn't belong in the same category as the other two.

Yeah Wozniacki is better than Safina as her 3 slam final showings and career wins over Serena, Henin, Venus, Clijsters, Davenport, and anyone who matters shows.

That´s just a stupid thing to say. JJ was basically the most consistent/best claycourter besides Henin for the last 10 years and she didn´t even make the French Open final once. She is a mentally weak player that always found ways to lose her biggest matches regardless of the opponent.
