View Full Version : Which of the "Big 4" (Vika,Ma$ha,Aga,Petra) Will Draw The Cake(Marion)Walk In RG QF?

ok looking at the upcoming RG draw it looks very interesting :inlove:

of the #5-8 SEEDS, we have #5 Serena who won Madrid and is the in-form player right now ... then we have #6 clay-court specialist Sam who always plays well on red clay and reached the SF in Roland Garros 2 of the last 3 years ... then we have #7 the defending Roland Garros champ NaNa who reached the Rome final and may win Rome and therefore carry a 11 match red clay outdoor win streak into RG ... it is clear that the top 4 who draw Serena, NaNa and Sam will have a tough path to the SF but then we have #8 Marion who despite reaching the Roland Garros SF in 2011, is on a 4 match losing streak including 3 on red clay

I bet the top 4 are praying to their respective Belarussian, Russian/American/Serbian, Polish and Czech gods that they draw Marion and end up with a Cakewalk to the SF ... I mean considering the #9-12 is Wozniacki, Kerber, Zvonareva and Lisicki, Kerber is the only possible tough QF opponent for them so they will likely have a clear path to the SF :sobbing:

the SEWTA may give Marion to Maria because after all she is the glamour girl on tour and it would make financial sense to have her in the final weekend of Roland Garros :p but the most likely is Aga drawing Marion AND Vera / Caro because I think the SEWTA wants to justify their new #3 / real #2 by having her reach a slam SF ... they don't want people to say anymore here is a player ranked #3 / #2 without ever reaching a slam SF :awww:

I think Big 1. Cause only Maria deserves to be "big" from those 4.

Is it really a big 4 though? Vika has shoulder injury, and Petra has abdominal strain either can lose before QF considering this isn't their best surface anyway. The only ones I see being locks for QF are Maria and Aga.

Stars will align for Aga to vulture her way to the top. She will draw draw Marion in her section and finally score first win over Vika in the SFs when French crowd gets on her case. :hearts:

What is the point of this thread?

All 4 top seeds have an equal chance of drawing any of the 5-8 seeds in the quarters.

How can anyone answer a question when the answer is determined by luck? Isn't it a waste of time?

Ivanovic!

She will beat previously in R16 one of this four TOP4 seeds and than faced opponent from Bartoli's 1/8 of draw (maybe Bartoli herself if she get cakewalk draw till QF!).

She's gonna beat Radwanska in the 4th round and make it to the 2nd week of a slam for the first time since 2008. She'll then meet Serena in the QFs and lose. Book it.

Aga is more likely to lose before the QFs than either Vika or Petra. Czech players ( 2 Petras,2 Lucies), Kerber own her. Vika and Petra are expected to be healthy and playing well at RG and reach QF unless some big upsets happen.

Maria is probably going to reach the QF or better, but again, there is no guarantee for this too.

How exactly does Kerber own her?

The real question is which quarter does Serena draw in to?
That immediately becomes the toughest quarter, like 2011 USO, where she drew Vika in round 3

My bad, sorry. It was an attempt to cut short of typing. Kerber doesn't own Aga, but she is one of the lower ranked players who can peak in a Slam and upset the top tier players as we always saw the " surprises" in almost every Slam.

Beside the top 8 players, the remain 120 players will provide a few players that hit " the form of their lifetime" and reach the later stage of a GrandSlam in compensate for a few top players that are injured or in relative " bad form" ( Bartoli, Fran, Vera, Petko, etc....) That's why a Grand Slam is always harder to win comparing to the YEC, because we can always have " back ups" to replace top players in bad forms, besides the regular factors like longer process and tremendous pressure.

Na mug is not as "dumb" as some people like to bash him. He always pretend to praise someone/ be silly and opened threads to serve his own agenda ;).

His threads are indeed hilarious although some people would find them as foolish/ annoying.

Nah, Carcass will probably get Marion as she gets the easiest possible draws in 90% of tournaments - look at Rome.:tape:

Well Aga won comfortably her last matches with them, if she got such a draw to the final people would be incessantly moaning over her cakewalk draws.

Marion is surely the easiest of the 5-8 ... if any of the top 4 draw Serena it is a death sentence ... if they draw Na or Sam it is like 50 / 50 which one makes SF ... if they draw Marion they are the clear favorite for the SF
