kerber is unfortunately the type of player that cant breeze past lesser opponents, she has to spill blood and guts(fight) to go deep in a tournament, ask gacon, rodionova and keothavong.

Unbelievable. Petra.

I can't believe she's still playing. After 33 UEs in the first set, she's really cut those down. I just hope this isn't going to be like Venus at AO. Stomping her opponent post-injury and then having to give a walkover in the next match.

Counter-punchers/defenders are excellent match-ups for Petra. Kerber has exceptional counter-punching abilities but really nothing special in her ground-strokes to hurt Petra other than her super-defenses/consistency just like Radwanska, Wozniacki [...]

Actually Zvonareva was one heck of a problem for Petra though.

Yes, but abdominal strain is one of the worst, because you use your core for everything on the court. So, she is risking further injury. Sometimes you can win the battle but lose the war.

I admire the fight but she could easily tear her abdominal muscle and than this whole thing could be foolish to continue. She still has to play Sharapova and then Serena/Li. None of them are easy players and they will pounce on weak serves.
