the 2nd set has some of the worst tennis I've seen this year.
Cirstea choked a 5*-1 lead by making boatload of errors, Kvitova then lost serve at 5*-6.
Kvitova only hit amazing winners from 4-2* 30-30 FS

GL against Kerber...you need it.

Kvitova 16-29 Cirstea 19-31 (2nd set alone Kvitova was 4-18)

Good taking a set against #4, problem is that #4 played barely #100 in the 2nd.

On to Roland Garros.

Ugh. I do like Cirstea, but she's SO hit and miss and she is NOT smart. So frustrating to watch :help:

Petra looked flat for most of it, but finished well.

As expected, Kerber is gonna make the semis. Kvitova has been consistently bad all year.

Both played horrible during the 2nd set :o Petra fighting back all the way to 5 all only to fold :o Oh well at least she won, but she needs to pick it up big time against Kerber or she's gonna get killed by Kerber

The problem is the movement. In the second set Petra often stood there like a rock. Whenever she gets her feet moving, she's actually a very competent rallyer on the dirt.

Cirstea still with abysmal shot selection same as 2009. Going for idiotic low percentage shots from dumb positions on court.

The same shit she was doing when she was building steam on tour back then. I remember when she played Wimbledon R3 against Azarenka what a mess.

Petra Kvitova is so funny. Why do she make playing tennis look like she is doing COMMUNITY SERVICE

And as for Sorana, she may have will power and fire power, but she don't got no brain power, still , I do like her

The highlights of the match was just like the crowd, SPARSE

Petra has two wins over Kerber already this year, one on indoor hard in Ostrava for Fed Cup, one on indoor red clay at Stuttgart. So I like her chances, especially if she gets her shit together like she did in the last set.

Still, her serve was MIA today, and she can't beat Angie without serving well. Both these previous encounters were quite close: one break each set at Stuttgart (6-4, 6-4?), and a three-setter in Fed Cup.

 prob you forgot AO(SF) and Fed cup(4-0). Well, not as good as last year, but now it's time for change and taking the title! :)

Come on PETRA !!!!! :smooch:  ;)

She didn't play Kerber in Fed Cup.

Hi Babe

:secret: She played Julia and Sabine in Germany (I think). She played Errani and Schiavone in Ostrava

Pretty shittastic play from both. Kvitova needs to improve quickly or Queen Vulture won't be the only player to start passing her in the rankings.

Watching the match now, is it just me or does Cirstea really tries to copy Ivanovic? The firstpumps, hair and cap while getting ready to return etc..

Petra was clearly injured. First serve speeds were way below normal. And then not having her serve obviously affected the rest of her game. Not sure if she'll recover in time against Kerber, but hopefully she'll be 100% for RG

What is wrong with Kvitova? The number that sticks out like a sore thumb is 0 aces in a three set match  She would've been long gone if her opponents were competent. She is lucky that she ran into brainless Nastia and Sorana  I expect her to pick it up against Kerber.

I hope she (KvittyGOAT) really doesn't have an ab strain. This match was so strange.

Seems to be a stomach strain based on what I saw. That's why she couldn't serve at full speed.

Well, I just watched this match on a re-run I recorded today. It was almost like tennis from out of space :spit: I'm not sure I've seen tennis quite like this before, the errors were extraordinary.

In fact, Cirstea looks and has all of the mannerisms of Ivanovic, but plays like Rezai, hit and see what happens more or less. Kvitova hit some great shots in the last 3 games of the match.

Obviously Kvitova will have to play a lot better tomorrow. A night match, a full crowd, a very good opponent should have her much more motivated to play better and move her feet much more.

I'm an advocate of winning ugly to get a run going and build some confidence, Petra certainly did that today, good for her.

Kvitova playing someone less agile, more reckless is a surprising luxury for her this year.
