from Facebook:

Today has been one of the worst days in my tennis career for me... I went to the doctor and got told i will need to under go surgery on my right knee (my cartlidge is badly worn down). Its in such bad state that it hurts when i walk or even just lie on bed, that i dont even have an option of taking pain killers, cortisone injections or other momentarily pain medicine that could ease the pain until Roland Garros or Wimbledon..
As you can imagine im totally devastated at this moment and dont know what else to tell you guys.. If you have any words of encouragement i could really use some right now.. :(((((

Rough. Hope she gets better soon. Didn't she also miss the 08 Olympics because of knee surgery?

Really heartbreaking, she is so unlucky :sobbing:

She missed the last Olympics as well because of injury... And now Roland Garros is out of the question and Wimbledon highly inlikely.

She added to her previous post:

Thank you all for the kinds words!!! I do, want to point out that the operation will take place this week and that its NOT a heavy one... So i know its pretty difficult for me to say when my first tournament will be again but i do, want you guys to know that if there will be a slight chance (without any risk ofcourse!!!) for me to play Roland Garros, Birmingham, Rosmalen or Wimbledon i ll be there!!! But for now i ll take it day by day...
POSITIVE THINKING

Misa has said that she is considering asking for a wildcard for the olympics. Also she hopes to make her return on tour in Rosmalen. So it may not be that bad after all. :D She is getting the surgery this Thursday or Friday. RG is out of the question but may still play Wimbledon :cheer:

Let's all hope for the best! :)

She did an interview on Dutch radio and she was very positive, don't know how she manages that :)

She said she hoped to play the last 3 weeks of the gras season, so Rosmalen and Wimbledon. Hopefully she'll make it.
