IMO, GCB was not given a chance and Ringer was a hot mess but SMG is my girl. Everything else? Meh.

I was disappointed that they cancelled The Finder. The only other one that I watched was A Gifted Man and I watched that on Demand.

Pan Am  apparently Sony are shopping it around various networks to get it picked up again, particularly in Europe cause it won a big award there or something.

Harry's Law and Pan Am  But the good news is that Pan Am is being shopped to a few cable networks :D

I wish Harry's Law would be shopped to the cable networks aswell. It had an avg of almost 9 million viewers a week, but what got it cancelled was its low 18-49 demo rating of 0.9. That's the most coveted demo to advertisers. So I'm thinking a network like TNT would be a good home for Harry's Law as it's shows are much more geared towards an older audience. The biggest problem is that Harry's Law and Pan Am are expensive to produce :-/

The River is most probably coming back next year on Netflix!!!! A lot of them had potential Awake, A Gifted Man, Pan Am and The Secret Circle. Its a pity they weren't given more of a chance.

The River started out OK but by the end of the season it was a fantastic show. I will be happy to see it come back. The Missing is a pretty good show too but one season should be enough to tie everything together.

Alcatraz and Ringer had some potential but were both executed really poorly from the very beginning. Terra Nova was probably the biggest disappointment of the season, it was watchable but could have been so much better. Cannot say much about the others since I never watched them.

Nope, Ru Paul, America's next top Model, Basketball Wives and Housewives of ATL are still going strong! :) I watched one episode of The River and kinda fell off of it from there. Pan Am looked interesting but I never disciplined myself to sit down and watch it or DVR it.

Ringer had a lot of potential but it took 15 episodes for it to get good. And by that time it had already lost 70% of it's viewers because of the 10 week hiatus that they put it on from mid-November through the last week of January. Then they totally stopped promoting it and aired like 8 episodes in a row, not even bothering to extend the series through the May sweeps. :o I would have liked a 10-12 episode Season 2 to wrap things up since they ended it by leaving so many questions unanswered. The finale pissed me off.

TSC had the most potential of all the new shows this season IMO, but it started off slow and lost too much of its audience. Britt Robertson was a horrible casting decision for Cassie. Adam's character was HORRIBLY written until the very last 2 minutes of the season finale when he finally became interesting. They under-used their best 3 actors/actresses (Gale Harold, Jessica Parker Kennedy, and Natasha Henstridge) and focused too much on romance and incest rather than magic. The last 6 episodes were flawless though, so I was disappointed. They set everything up for a great Season 2 if it got renewed. :(

Missing is a good show, but it was never gonna get a 2nd season. One season is enough to wrap up the main storyline. I know they left a small cliffhanger in the finale on the 2% chance that it would get renewed, but that was never going to happen.

IMO they should either come up with a new way to assess shows or just stop making TV shows other than the "reality" shows which they seem to love to no end. None of the shows listed were faves of mine but still . . it's ridiculous. Sure there are a few outright clunkers but almost every show deserves 2 seasons to see if it develops.

'Gilmore Girls' canceled
Final episode to air May 15
By Josef Adalian

'Gilmore Girls'
Say goodbye to "Gilmore Girls."
After weeks of talks aimed at bringing the show back for a limited run next season, the CW and Warner Bros. TV have decided to wrap production on the dramedy focusing on the witty banter between mom Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel). Skein, now in its seventh season, will air its final episode May 15.

Money was a key factor in the decision, with the parties involved not able to reach a deal on salaries for the main cast members. Other issues, such as number of episodes and production dates, may have also played a role.

In addition, CW execs may have been influenced by early internal reaction to their fall pilots. That the net is willing to move on without a key, albeit modestly rated, player indicates that the CW may like the state of its drama development.

One of the net's hot prospects is another femme-focused drama, the Josh Schwartz-Stephanie Savage hour "Gossip Girl." Also getting great buzz is the supernatural hour "Reaper."

"It was such a hard decision," said CW prexy Dawn Ostroff. "Everyone came to the point where we decided it was just time to move on. But I think everybody is walking away with good feelings. We all tried to make it work."

"Gilmore" was a holdover from the now-defunct WB network. Debuting in 2000, it quickly became one of the Frog's signature skeins, with critics eating up the relationship dramedy. Series was set in the fictional hamlet of Stars Hollow, Conn.

The CW and WBTV released a joint statement noting the passing Thursday morning. "This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters," the statement read.

David Rosenthal exec produced and served as showrunner on the current season of "Gilmore," which was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. WBTV and the CW thanked the producers and cast for their work, as well as critics who supported the show with glowing reviews.

"(We) promise to give this series the sendoff it deserves," the statement said.

I think it definitely declined in later years. Still one of my favourite shows.
