Quote:A group of conservative Christians from South Korea are planning to hold a prayer meeting in protest of Lady Gaga’s show in Seoul.
AFP reports that 300 members of Alliance for Sound Culture In Sexuality are planning to attend the meeting on Sunday.

Kang Ju-Hyun, a prayer organiser, told AFP: "We will pray to God that the concert will not be realised so that homosexuality and pornography will not spread around the country."

The group have accused Lady Gaga of "spreading unhealthy sexual culture" through "lewd lyrics and performances".

Under 18s have been banned from the concert on Friday April 27, after the Korea Media Rating Board deemed the show unsuitable for young audiences.

I always wonder about people who honestly think the idea of sex would never have crossed my hormone-addled teenage brain if it wasn't for some pop singer.

Koreans really aren't happy unless they're protesting against something.

A teenage boy can look at a knothole or a pair of muskmelons and go batshit. (Or in some cases, a summer sausage, I guess).

These people just need to face up to the fact they are projecting their own bizarre fantasies on to other people. (And not just these Koreans. Anybody who's convinced a singer makes teenagers horny.)

What?

How about their protesting against the military dictatorship regime during the 1960~90s? (Well of course not everyone protested..mainly college students, but still)

And I thought protesting is a French thing :oh:

There are people like that everywhere. And there are plenty of religious conservatively people who choose to spend their time doing much more constructive things. Even if I disagree with them on social or theological questions, I will admire them for their good works. "Loving the sinner and hating the sin" cuts both ways.

i think madonna has had a lot of influence on the state of pop culture though. if singers did not have physical appeal, they would sell a lot less. even rock bands which are supposed to be about the music have the singer with all the chest hair showing

Well, they should cut back on their 'excessive zeal' like this one if they want to project a more positive image :oh:

For a second I thought it was NKorea repeat waling of the dear leader, then I took another look in the OP.

Same imagery, different cause.
Outdoing each other to see who can show the most compelling outward signs of outrage, hurt feelings
Thye must be thinking NYC, where Lady Gaga makes her home, is already in hell

What with all the blowjob O-faces in the pics? Religious ecstasy is indeed closer to sexual ecstasy than one might imagine.

Meh, she's not even that provocative. Isn't it all been there and done that now?

At least, Madonna in the 80s really pushed some envelopes.
