Who's Danilina and why is she ranked so high?

Surprised Ash isn't playing here, considering she plays at a G1 the week before in the same country.

I thought the same about ash. Danilina is someone I don't particularly like (that's probably obvious) because she went to Brazil and won a GA and a G1, in singles and doubles, putting her up to an unjustified ranking of 4. At the Australian Open she lost 2nd round, at orange owl she lost 3rd round. Her ranking should be about 50

I like how y'all underestimate Danilina:lol: She's not that good, she doesn't deserve to be ranked so high, but she's not bad either. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes deep here. And no, I don't sympathize her.
Montserrat Gonzalez has been too awful as of late to be a strong contender for the trophy. Schmiedlova, on the other hand, should be.
Some bets of mine for the final rounds are also Kan and Flink.

Anyways, I hope Anett wins it and Belinda and Ilka are willing to win some matches.

This is a good lineup :)

Danilina, Kulichkova, Scholl and Kontaveit have done pretty well in ITFs this week.
And there are plenty of others from the list that are also in good shape from ITFs.

Thanks Meelis :)
Danilina has a hard draw. Could easily go out to Makarova if it wasn't on clay.
I could also see Kulichkova going if Zarah plays like she did in first set vs Ash and against Jelena
The 7th quarter is sooooo hard. I can't pick a winner!!!! Vickery, Konjuh, Flink or Abanda.
Anett has an easy draw luckily until Kan/Uberalova in the 3rd
If Ana can replicate G1 form, she could move through to the final

Danilina and Kontaveit have an easy way to the semis, if they're playing well they'll have no problems getting there.
The second side of the draw is far more balanced in my opinion.

I like a Bia and she's a good claycourt player, but I don't see her going far here.
Korashvili is in a hell of a form. And then there's Montserrat Gonzalez, still a good fighter even when being in a bad form. Bia is able to win against them if she's playing her best, but that's all. I don't see her reaching the final, but even if she does, there's no way she could beat the likes of Kontaveit or Danilina.

You're right. She lost to Danilina 2 and 3 on clay in Brazil. I don't see her getting past her 8th given that korashvili is there

Even if she does, Gonzalez in form is out of her reach (even out of form, bu if she was out of form she would have lost to ostapenko)

Ridiculous.
Not only it's just four seeds left. Decent non-seeded players like Petersen, Uberalova and Routliffe are also already eliminated by seemingly weaker opponents.
I think Pera and Lottner have good chances to upset Kulichkova and Gonzalez next round so we could easily have only one seed making it to th QF.
It's gonna be worse then any Asian/South-America GA.

Didn't Francoise win Raquette D'or on clay???
I never realised how well she did in Canada G1 until I just looked at her activity then. Beat some really good players and she was only 14

Eliza :yeah: Sachia

It's interesting, before Eliza's GA title in Mexico last year she seemed good, but not necessarily a huge standout. She took advantage of a weak draw there and it seems to have propelled her to much more. I wonder if she would be having these current results (winning a 10k easily, beating older players like Pera and Vickery) if she didn't have that title. She seems to have lots of confidence now.

Dan_Doe
May 25th, 2012, 02:20 PM
:woohoo: Great results for me :D
And I'm happy Vickery lost  Sachia is already top 400 WTA and doesn't need a GA that much. I want girls like Toni or Adrijana to win, 'cause a title like this one can really boost their confidence, like that Mexico GA did with Eliza (as Juki said).

i think SVK watch Supertennis on tv ;)
massive choke from Lottner :awww: i watched till 5-2 in first set and till that point she was dominating and the other girl was so frustrated :o little comeback in the 2nd from 3-5 down but just too many errors in the end :(
of these 2 players Lottner is surely the one who will have a better career, i can't believe she's just 16  she's already so well build
she seems to be a classy girl too :) after the match she was crying but then gave a very huge hug to the winner and started to smile :D

I watched the match, too. I was quite excited, because I have heard of Antonia a lot of times and I was curious to watch her :) And she is very tied to some Italian girls, as I know, like Rosatello, so my curiosity was bigger
She is a very aggressive baseliner, even if, as someone else said, she doesn't look as a 15-16 girl. She could have won the tournament, but she started making some silly errors, quite common for her age.
Siniakova is, forgive me, annoying. "Lotti", as she wants to be called, will have a great career for sure, and I will follow her with interest :)
