This is getting to be pretty troubling from Gabby. I'd definitely say she's in a slump. Not good for a young 15 year old.

Keep it up Chalena, Taylor, Kyle, Brooke, Breaunna and Taylor!!

Let's think it this way; Caroline improved IMMENSELY. She's a formidable attacker now. And she did win the G16 there last year

Caroline had COUNTLESS winners against Makarova at ISC.

At last year's ISC, Andrews barely beat Makarova.

It's no more Andrews' slump than Doyle having improved tremendously.

Caroline was attacking CORNER to CORNER today..

Yes, I'm sure Caroline has improved. But Gaby's Junior results are WORSE this year than last year and for a 15 year old that is not a good sign at all.

I wish I could've recorded some clips of Andrews vs Doyle so you could at least glimpse the match
Caroline's performance yesterday was no less impressive than McPhillips' at EB final last year. She was THAT good..
I'll worry if Gaby's 'slump' continues for a year..she's still a HS Freshman, too early to worry imo.

Frankly, I was more impressed with Caroline against Makarova at ISC than Gaby against Makarova last year(same venue). Caroline was just humiliating Makarova  (then why did Caroline lose? Well, that's Christina )

I sense that the common view is that Gaby has no biz losing to Caroline

But which is more 'worrisome'? After all Gaby lost to older players, McCord, Hibi, Doyle.

Whereas Sam lost to Brooke, younger AND a MUCH smaller player lol. Moreover Brooke recently came back from lengthy absence. AND Sam becomes senior soon, unlike Gaby.

How about Brady's loss to Katz? Surely that is more shocking?

I'm more shocked that Katz beat Brady. Katz at the most is a CIF doubles player who dabbles in SoCal junior opens, but in Easter Bowl? That means something to Brady who trains at a tennis academy.

Gabby's in a slump, and through pure conjecture, I'd say she's going through growing pains.

The ISC-Easter Bowl back to back is tough and Brady is coming off a very successful ISC where she had really tough matches and high emotions. It's a tough rebound.

She committed to Pepperdine, but her verbal was taken off of TR.net and on their article of unsigned girls, she had no schools listed and was "open"

Zoe Katz. I did appreciate her dbls ability before, but wow, Claremont ITF dbls winner(beating Gaby Andrews, no less), and beating Brady/Woodard, and taking 6 games against Andrews/Townsend..she's surely one of the BEST volleyers in High School tennis. Elite status, no doubt about it.

And she'll make USC dbls strong :cheer:

Kiick is going pro, I can't remember if she said these were her last junior tournaments or RG & Wimbledon is. It's in some zootennis report. Anyway, her coach now is Kathy Rinaldi and her year-end goal is a top-200 pro ranking.

Zootennis has a detailed recap. please read that. Brooke had drive winners, whereas Taylor had volley winners. Taylor's defense prevailed I guess, she had to slice and moonball.
