Jerry Springer says he may run for public office in Ohio again.

Springer, a former mayor of Cincinnati, said recent donations to the Democratic Party in Ohio are part of his effort to stay involved in politics.

The next major statewide election in Ohio is in 2004, when the Senate term of Republican George Voinovich expires.

"I'm looking at all options," Springer said. "It doesn't mean I'll do anything by 2004. It just means I'm being active."

Springer served on the Cincinnati City Council but resigned in 1974 after admitting in federal court he wrote personal cheques to pay prostitutes. He returned to politics later and was elected mayor.

Springer lost a bid for the Democratic nomination for governor in 1982. He then worked as a TV news anchor and commentator before becoming a national talk show host.

Springer said his talk show shouldn't hurt his political chances, if he makes a good case for a candidacy.

"In the end, if I do not make a good case, then they will vote on the show," he said. "If I make a good case, if there are issues out there that affect their lives, that's what's going to carry the day one way or another."

Who will his running partner be then? Steve? Or that guy who sits to the side smoking a big cigar.

Wow....I would vote for him for senator. He supports a lot of the first amendment rights which I feel are trampled now.

Cincinnati is close, but not quite. If he drives South for a few minutes, he will enter Kentucky.

THERE, he might get elected.

Sorry, no. These fibers are too worn and used up to ever be recycled.

Jerry Springer is beneath wormslime. If I was wormslime I wouldn't even talk to him.

Apparently yesterday some of his people were putting out feelers as to the possibility of interviewing Bernardo and Homolka. :fiery:

Better stop him, Barrie. Start a write-in campaign for yourself.
