View Full Version : Potential re-direct virus?

Was pretty sure I was going crazy until I logged onto my account.
It seems that there is some kind of website re-directing bug on TF (MTF too) for offline users/users without accounts. A typical junk ad-website.

I was repeatedly redirected to a http://pagesinxt.com. Titled Asterpix.com. This happened every time I tried to go into a topic. Not on the actual boards but on the threads themselves.

Happened across three different browsers. Have spent the last two hours scanning and rescanning, deleting cookies and so forth until I randomly logged on..
Issues gone when that happened. Encouraged me to sign up to MTF too.

Thought I would mention it just in case people went anti-virus crazy like I did!

YES! This has been happening to me today and it scared the sh!t out of me. (BTW I lost a laptop before from clicking on some posters garbage/virus livestream link)

I just logged in and I'm finally able to click on a thread without being re-directed. I'm no tech guru but part of the problem might be that threads take about 15 seconds to load the messages on this website, a problem I've seen across different networks/computers/connections. I'll click on the thread, the TF logo and topic title load instantly, but the actual messages take FOREVER to load up. Or maybe that has nothing to do with anything, who knows.

But anyway YES there is a VIRUS on TF, wtf?!?

Yes... in my case when I open some thread in Chrome they re-directing my on that url: http://pagesinxt.com/?dn=web.asterpix.com&fp=eVJ8iaSn0yvLE1rJ5NNhCg3Akr1j2Qv8t1O51CdCUeZx30% 2FkMrjvFPpKQeSr8lJgPy5bUtu0dnoNsWCkSF8U5Q%3D%3D&prvtof=1XHTYn4XUJUoAPKBd%2FdSIR8l8BE%2FMCZjlwE2jsi QIscejxnEg%2FNSJjBU2H6FDgrakvrH%2FQ%2FyS%2BFHFK3PE I0LlV0px3qrhmOmbPVagmn4cnU%3D&poru=EMMPLkq7sMAXCevqPdeQczztyphegYm%2FkJXhIC%2FKB wlN

In firefox its all ok... maybe because I already logged there

Can someone here please fix this problem, or at least to change re-direct link on something tennis related - I recommending www.anaivanovic.com to be new re-directing address instead this boring Asterpix.com.

EDIT: Instant help for non-members and guests without ability to log-in and escape this problem:
When You click to open some page of some TF thread - just click enough fast (You have only 3-4 seconds to react before redirecting) on that RELOAD button on Yours Browser address bar!
That button looks like
http://www.gif-chat.com/logos/reload.png

but in first few seconds when you open some page there is "X" sign on that button instead "Ↄ" (RELOAD)!
so put quickly that "X" button on address bar and page which you open will stay without redirecting!
http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/bayou/files/2012/03/X.gif

So this problem is temporarily solved with this my advice if TF guest-viewer have skills to read this my post in just 3-4 seconds before been redirecting from here

The same here. Actually it forced me to sign up since otherwise I couldn't open any thread.

happened to me as well until I logged in then it stopped (same on MTF)

EDIT : oh and when I clicked on "asterpix.com" it redirected me to a shitty ad vid for the new Adidas collection of Stella McCartney on youtube

The redirect happens to me also, but ONLY on this site. Every other site is fine. I've cleared my cookies/cache and run a scan but nothing comes up. I didn't know that websites could get infected but maybe they can.

I don't know who monitors this but you guys should really check into it.

I'm in the same boat as Rorcyn - this re-direct frustrated (and frightened) me, so I gave up and finally made an account to see what would happen, and voila! No problems.

The same here. Actually it forced me to sign up since otherwise I couldn't open any thread.

It's a ploy by TF to make people sign up if they want to view any threads
It worked as its the first time in a while I've logged in :p

I disabled JavaScript on browser setting and avoided this re-direct virus(?) without logging in.
But it's troublesome because many other sites require enabling JavaScript.

Knowing the bare minimum about such things...will it have a lasting effect, has it installed anything on the PC's of people who had this issue?

I was using an iPod touch with Safari, I suppose any lasting effect is much less likely there? Am I entirely safe, no need to go through the lengthy chore of a restore?
