What do you say. I personally think it's very important that an artist can make his own music and thereafter i judge guys like McCartney/Lennon, Babyface, Michael Jackson, Prince, Phil Collins, R.Kelly, Max Martin, Dianne Warren very well. They have been writing so many great songs. What do you think?

I agree and would also add Sarah Mclachlan, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, and Rob Thomas (Matchbox Twenty).

This is too tough for me, and plus I hardly ever listen to lyrics, i'm more into the music.

But I would have to say, I don't know

I'd also have to add: Willie Nelson, Cole Poter, George and Ira Gershwin, and Johnny Mercer.

Tori Amos who can create her whole own universe.

There are some French singers who write very well too.

Gwen Stefani definately, the lyrics in Return of Saturn were mind-bogglingly deep and amazing.

Nickelback for the sole fact that they talk about real emotions etc.

Hmm, Incubus' lyrics are good, except for his similes *shudder*.
