I really would love to see Goerges win. But having seen the match she played today against Wozniacki, I have to go with Radwanska. Although, I would predict it will be a lot closer than their previous match at AO.

Their AO match was amazing in that, as strange as it sounds, Radwanska's shots were actually too much for Goerges to handle  Goerges needs such a high bounce to line up her forehand; she gets ample time when she has loopy balls galore from Wozniacki, but Radwanska's strokes, underpowered though they are, are much flatter meaning Julia simply can't swing through properly. The bounce on these courts is a little higher than at the AO, but probably not so much that it will make a significant difference.

Radwanska 6-4 6-1.

Fine with either winning, though Radwanska might need this more, if only to avoid some of the wrath of the Vika fans if ever she lost.

Probably Aga in 2 sets, 1 tight and the other pretty comfortable.

Yep this.

I don't think it'll be as one-sided as Australia was, though. Julia was coming off an illness and was not in the best of form, and Radwanska isn't in as good of form right now. Regardless out of the outcome it's been a great week for Julia. Just try your best! :yeah:

Julia has admitted that Radwanska is in her head so that's not really a good way to start. I hope she at least gets a set out of it, I can't see her win right now really..

6 games for Görges, because Agatha is struggling too.

Agnieszka Radwańska is the clear frontrunner and Julia an unseeded finalist with a magnificent week ($ 240K prize money in her pocket & 320 ranking points in her account).

If Julia is fit enough to play competitive, she needs are more effective first service than today, quality returns to Aga's flat groundstrokes (but why should the come out of the blue tomorrow?) and a little help of her opponent (but as there are $ 200K on stake, I don't expect a free lunch).

Well Julia has a tendency to press too much against these types of defensive minded counter-punchers ; in her on-court match ITW against Caroline today she said it again 'I was pressing too much, going for my shots too much etc. etc.'. She found her cool at times and sufficiently enough to scrape the win today.

This match will be a huge test of resistance, in Australia Julia tried anything anyhow anywhere -- so we'll see. Her backhand started pretty much well against Caroline and sunk in the 2nd set -- Radwanksa will know how to pin her that side just like in Melbourne to make her boil over - I hope she wins.

maybe jules should watch the second set from aga's semifinal against empress today again

tbh, i would be satisfied with a close 2-set loss like 4-6 5-7. please jules, not again a beatdown :hysteric:

I was re-reading Julia's short ITW in AO after the loss to Aga (below)... like I said if Julia doesn't press too much she can win this thing. In Australia she was a complete air head and the fact that Radwanska's defensive/counter-punching abilities good doesn't really help when she's in UE mode.

In her on-court ITW in Dubaď she repeated the same thing and was going for too much with her shots at times and too early in the exchange but don't worry Julia for the win. :D

Q. What happened out there? Seemed like you were a little bit out of sorts.
JULIA GOERGES: Well, I think nothing happened. Well, yeah, it was one of those days where really nothing worked. No balls went in. She made I think two unforced errors in two sets. So it's pretty tough when you go for your shots and miss them most of the time‑ almost all.

Q. Did you feel well or have any problems? I know you had a virus last week.
JULIA GOERGES: No, I felt Okay. I mean, it's warm, but it's not an problem or anything. No, not really.

Q. Just couldn't find your momentum?
JULIA GOERGES: Yeah, well I've never played her. Yeah, it's kind of a strange game or not usual game what you normally get from players. That's what makes her strong. It was tough for me to find my rhythm at all, and then when get lot of the balls back all the time it makes it even tougher for you.

Julia at AO and Julia now is completely different. Now she can play tennis and plays some of her best one. No way Aga wins this one.

Julia's movement is a huge liability.

Aga wins in two sets if she manages to keep Julia out of position, thus unable to unleash that big forehand.

Awful semis matches. Awful final line up. Sorry to be harking back to the past but I remember the draws having Capriati, Mauresmo, Seles, Henin, Davenport, Hingis, Williams. And many of those at the same time. I really thought 2012 was going to get better. The curse of top players not playing......

dubai final
radwanska going so deep in big tournaments like tokyo beijing and dubai say that wta is in a bad state. i think radwanska is a really talented player and it's a joy to watch when she is on, but she is (should be) too light weight for these stages, this happen because the competition is weak, but i hope she wins

have watched radwanska for a bit now.. she is my favourite player.. she appears to be turning into the kind of player that regularly wins without doing anything spectacular.. the kind of player that everyone should fear.. i think she will win this without too much trouble

Julia is playing better than she played during AO.

Could be more competitive than their last meet.

Really looking forward to see this one.

Miss. Gorgeous was playing terribly in Australia. She only made the 4th round because her draw fell apart.

I still stand by what I said before that A. Rat isn't that bad of a match-up for Miss. Gorgeous. Rat doesn't possess the tools to pin Julia to her BH, and her serve doesn't pose a massive threat to Julia's sub-par ROS. Julia hits big enough to hit though her consistently enough when playing well.

It's going to be much, much closer than their AO match.

The difference is Radwanska uses a much bigger area of the court and can be more aggressive than Wozniacki. She´ll make Görges move. She´ll catch Görges out of position with a flatter fh cc and the bh dtl. Two things Wozniacki lacks completely. For Görges Wozniacki could as well be #140 in the world. That´s how easy Wozniacki plays for Görges. Even on her worst surface, playing at 60% was enough for a straight sets win.

Goerges is a mug. You won't beat Radwanska when you hit balls 6ft long or wide every 2 points.
