At this rate will Venus's ranking be high enough to even qualify to play in the Olympics? Something tells me either the Olympics or the USO will be her swan song...

Well, it was quite inevitable that she got a WC, but will she actually play there? I certainly hope so. It would be great for her to start the comeback on home soil.

She needs to draw against scrubs like Yakimova to ensure a win. Good luck Vinas

Will be interesting to see how many more WCs she will get before we finally get to see her play a match on court.

When you're a player in Venus' position, any draw is a tough draw.

DIdnt Venus beat Ivanovic and Petkovic in her first tournament last year? I wouldn't worry about the draw if I was Venus. I'd be more concerned about getting on the court.

I'd give Venus a Wild Card. 7 Grand Slams, a genuine debilitating illness. Respect.

Dosen't matter I don't see Venus playing at Miami. I reckon another Wimbledon return maybe Eastbourne again, I am going for 2 days this year

I think Venus will play firstly because she has some contest going on for her first match there. So she has to. AND the fact that she accepted the wild card is promising that she is ready considering she did not bother to accept or ask for one in Doha where she also would have played Qualifying similar to Miami. I think she'll play, but at the same time anything can happen. Venus entered Charleston and then took a WC for Miami, so instead of working forward and building more possible events she may make her comeback at, she is now working backwards and accepting for Miami. I think she is ready.

Well, she won't be playing a seed in the opening round so she'll get at least one match to warm up in.

.Venus will not withdraw. She has always done well in Miami. Fond memories great matches most is she has won and little she lost. Venus will start her preparation for Wimbeldon by playing in Miami! it's her homestate. She'll be there and wont withdraw. She will then play more tourneys to be match fit and tough for the OLYMPICS. Her focus is in the OLYMPICS and Wimbeldon..and the rest of the slams.

I just hope she's healthy for Cincinnati,Ohio. I want to see her live one more time before she retires in 2014. :-) Heard it here first.
