JJ needs to earn some points as she lost early in Doha. Last year she had two SFs and final in Monterrey at this time. So not surprising, if it's true.

Only one top 10 player can play MM's tournament. Aga could only play in KL in case of Marion's withdrawal.

"I will try my best to do better this time in Kuala Lumpur. I don't think the hot weather will affect me, In fact, I've played some of my best tennis in humid conditions,"

Kuala Lumpur, 24th February 2012 – With the confirmation of World No 6 Agnieszka Radwanska and 2008 year end World Number 1 Jelana Jankovic, the four wildcard entries for the BMW Malaysian Open will add even more sparkle to an already strong field for this year’s WTA tournament, which will be held at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Club next week.

“The confirmation of Radwanska, Jankovic (ranked No.14), Jarmila Gajdosova (43) and Olgo Puchkova (189) clearly reflects the growing strength, attraction and image of the event amongst the players,” said Kevin Livesey, member of the WTA Tournament Council.

“These are globally recognised names and for them to sign on to play, it really shows the depth of strength.”

However, news of the entries also comes with reports that Marion Bartoli (World No. 7) and Venus Williams (135) are doubtful for the BMW Malaysian Open. More on this is yet to be known at press time.

More on their participation is likely to be announced during the tournament draw tomorrow.

World No. 6 Radwanska, who will be the top seed in Kuala Lumpur, will fly here from Dubai this weekend following a semi-final showdown with Jankovic at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship today.

"I am really excited to compete next week at the WTA event in Kuala Lumpur and I have heard great things about the event and Malaysia. Hopefully I can win the tournament!" said the 22-year-old. She continued “I am playing well at the moment and feel strong. The opportunity to play in Kuala Lumpur was too good to miss,” said Radwanska.

“My younger sister, Urszula, played in last year’s BMW Malaysian Open reaching the quarter-finals and she loved the country,” she added.

Isn't there a special possible entry for top 10, if the tournament prize money is high enough?

Is it? JJ already has like 4 cars, including 2 Porsches...hope she's asking for cash instead.

Anyway, I am actually really shocked. Aga has played Premier level events exclusively for three years now. That must've been very good money for her to show up

I'm getting a feeling Radwanska was forced by WTA to play Kuala Lumpur. One day she describes how she's happy to come back home and the next day her KL appearance is announced? Pleeeeeeease. KL were probably promised a top 10 player and after Bartoli withdrew they had to find a replacement. She probably got some nice appearance $, otherwise she'll earn more money today than the entire prize money for KL.
I hope she won't get injured at this point, her schedule this year is crazy.

haha, of course they forced her!!

First, they beat Aga with tennis rockets, then they threw tennis balls at her (those hard ones!). Then they twisted her arm threatening her that WTA will always put Drama Queen in Aga's sections, if she doesn't play in Malaysia ;)

Nah, they promised to rig the draws so that she meets Azarenka in the finals and not earlier. She couldn't refuse such a tempting offer, hence she was forced. :oh:
