What are the best questionable statements about players you've seen on Wikipedia?

Two gems:

"Venus Williams's serve is considered one of the best in history, with its fluid, technically-sound motion able to generate record-breaking pace"

"Julia Goerges' favorite surfaces are hard and grass courts."

not about players but they said Hingis led 6-2 in the 2nd set of the 2002 AO final vs. Capriati. She had 4 championship points but they were not consecutive.

I also think it's funny when a lot of players' chokes will be removed. They change the result to "squandered a 5-1 third set lead and 3 match points" to "she lost to _______ in three sets."

Halep's father Stere runs a cheese and milk factory.[3] She started playing tennis at age four, in emulation of her older brother.[4] She has self-described her playing style as being "an aggressive baseliner,"[4] while New York Times columnist Michael Kimmelman described her as "a scrappy player from Romania, short but with potent ground strokes and a scrambler’s talent."

Step to this.

"Julia Goerges' favorite surfaces are hard and grass courts."

This fact is from WTAtennis website

I have never known that Goerges likes grass

Facts aside, the most ridiculous thing I've read from wikipedia, however, was on Kuznetsova's page.

It was something like

"Kuznetsova was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2004. Her fiance, (insert name), was the one who gave his kidney to her"

At one point, Alexandra Stevenson's Wiki mentioned her working at MacDonalds between tournaments or something like that.

The best was when that newspaper from FYROM made up a story that Jovanovski was going to play for them and that she was in Skopje and they made up quotes and everything and then we found out that it was all made up and Jovanovski had never even been there lol :rolls:

And I remember once seeing on Dementievas wiki that she changed nationalities and played for Kazakhstan :spit:

There are several eye-opening moments on Bille Jean King's page. They make an excuse for practically every match she lost, including statement that she was having cramps during a tournament from her recent abortion and that's why she lost the match.

Radwańska's closest friends on the WTA Tour are Caroline Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka, Daniela Hantuchová, Angelique Kerber and Maria Kirilenko. :oh:

3 or 4 years ago someone sabotaged Lindsay Davenport's entry by claiming her mother either resembled or was related to an alien, they then put a picture of Davenport's mother and a picture of ET or something. Not sure how long that was on before it was taken down.

The Alexandra Stevenson one is really gag- and cringe-worthy now. If someone did it on purpose, it's pretty funny, if it was she or one of her fans, pretty sad.

The Stevenson one was EPIC. :sobbing:

Just a quick note to the OP: Favourite surface ≠ Best surface. ;)
