View Full Version : WWW Dubai SF - Caroline Wozniacki versus Julia Görges

Vikapower

Julia has more lift thus much better angles combined with her mesmerizing power off her shots to not only overpower but to also put Caroline off position contrary to Ana.

Also Julia stays on 2 consecutive wins over the ex-world #1 and beat her in two different physical shapes, in Stuttgart she was 100%, in Madrid more exhausted (win in 3) -- so either ways should be confident entering this match.

[In all seriousness I really want Julia to win this tournament, it's so doable don't ruin it. :sobbing:]

Jules 7-5 or 7-6 6-0.

I think jugs has got this one because she has the H2H and is playing so well at the moment :D

Dare I predict Julia to win this one? Mug though she is on hardcourts, she's a bad match-up for Wozniacki for the same reasons Ivanovic is, with the added bonus that unlike Ana she has the confidence she can beat her.

Hmm...

Interesting matchup, guarantees that I won't be gutted whatever the outcome is :)

SF is a great success for Julia, I do hope that Caro wins though simply because I like her chances against Radwanska much better. Julia has openly admitted that she's afraid of her so I don't think she would do much in a possible final.

Since Julia surprised me by beating Dani I'm gonna have to support her in this match.

Caro's defense should be good enough to win this in 2.

She can't have said that. :haha:

Cheering for Gools in this one :cheer:

She can't have said that. :haha:

Yes she said that she felt she already lost the match in the locker room because she was frightened from the beginning. And that's how she played really...

Julia really can win this. What a boost for her. It will boil down to belief, but if she executes a plan like she did against Dani then it's hers.

Boy. I bet you guys (and Vikapower obviously) couldn't wait to post, talk about and see this one?

This should tell us a lot about where Caroline is this year (Julia is up and down all the time, and can always lose to anybody, anytime)? But she appeared to adapt well to Dannie's game. Will she do the same against Woz, to hang in there and win? We'll see?

Caro's got all the reasons to want to beat Georges tomorrow, for obvious reasons.

I hope it's a good match?

Caro plays well, Julia will selfdestruct

Julia plays well, Caro is toast

Hard to predict. H2H is 2-2. Julia won 2-0 last year but Caro is 2-0 on HC. Julia has the bigger game but Caro is mentally more stable. I think Julia would have to win in straights. If she gets a second long match in two days I think Caro wins on stamina.

Jimmie48
Feb 23rd, 2012, 08:03 PM
Not sure about her winning in straights, in the last two matches Julia has gotten stronger after a messy first set.

Caro needs to defend well to make her lose patience and take risky shots.

I think if Wozniacki wins this it'll be in three , Julia won't allow her to get away with her second set walkabouts. Their match in Copenhagen was pretty close so I think she's more than capable of beating Woz again. No idea what will happen.

Julia 40 UEs at least, Woz 10 winners at the most

Out of nowhere Go-error-erges.

Something strange must have happened to her.
Maybe new boyfriend in place.
Or at least a new boyfriend replacement tool...?

Julia said she figured out to beat her last year, high balls to the forehand then in for the winner. So it's completely up to her :)

Couldn't disagree more - recently, whenever Woz's matches against bigger hitters go to 3, she almost always loses. If Goerges gets grooved enough and her shots flowing enough to even take a set, chances are Woz will be powerless to stop her and Goerges would win. Woz's best shot is trying to not let Goerges establish a rhythm at all by winning in straights.

Um. What.

Are you 18 or over?
Hopefully yes, i assume.

So there are some "tools" (mainly) for girls available.
You can use them as a substitute for a boyfriend.
I think you should know them.
And sometimes they are fun to play with.
And sometimes they can be sooo relaxing.
I can tell you.

Failniacki was awful against VIP. She just got lucky that VIP is nothing but a bad joke these days.

This is Miss. Goergeous' for the taking. I hope she wins 7-6 in the 3rd saving 8432014 MPs. Another heavy dent for the confidence of Fail.

Julia must win. It will be all about her hitting winner and blowing Caro off the court and then hitting errors to complicate it for herself. Eventually she should win it.

Goerges is really good at sticking to her tactics, and she knows exactly how to play Wozniacki. I picked her in three.
