Thank you Aga :hearts:

Aga served for the match at 6*-5 in the 2nd set and had 30-0. 43 shot rally in the tiebreak. Aleks served for the match at 5*-4.

Had a lot of problems with the wind.

Wozniak nowadays canīt convert her chances, it was a bit expected she wouldnīt close it out. I was surprised she managed to win that second set tiebreak. Crazy wind/rallies there.

Tough loss for Aleks, but to be honest she made it way closer than I would have predicted. Aga and Caro are really her worst possible match ups and I think knowing her poor record against Aga in the past created the self doubt to close it out in the third set which you could just feel was going to happen with the tension and the windy conditions.

That said, I think this is very positive for Aleks to get herself into a winning position in tough conditions against someone like Radwanska. Played some good rallies, but in the end Radwanska came up with some real nice cat and mouse tennis to earn the win. Aleks needed to flatten out that forehand a bit more and hit through it when things got tight.

Hopefully a sign of more positives for 2012 for Aleksandra, nice to see her back out competing against the top names again :)

Ugly match. Aga was the one dictating (seriously) but made fugly errors when going for a kill. First set was all Aga, 2nd and 3rd was Aleks playing smart, controlled tennis, very good defense and some really clever touch shots. Mugnieszka is also bothered A LOT by the wind and her 10k level groundstrokes are being blown off the court.

Overall I'm glad her mental composure won this match but I'm not glad at all with her form. BORNA BIKIC NEEDS FIRED.

aga has that aura going for her woz had until mid last year where girls just don't believe they can keep it going long enough to beat her. aga is on a roll, girls know it and the win over aga just becomes a bigger hurdle with each passing tournament.

Great comeback from Aga at 3-5 in the 3rd. Overall the score isn't surprising at all, Aga hasn't played this year as well as she did last Autumn. Great that she got herself fired up at the end and pulled through the match.

Now watch her get to final only to lose to Azarenka once again :sobbing:

yes you are, there was no indication of this. she is serving quite well with her 1st serve for some time now, but she definitely didn't strengthen her ground game.

She's not. It was very windy and she adjusted her game to Aga's style of play as well. That was the most patient I've ever seen Aleks on a tennis court.

Shame she couldn't serve it out :( Good to see her back though.

Aga was the MORE aggressive one in this match  her groundstrokes are junior/10k level in the wind, but she was successful in moving Aleks side to side (who in turn is just content in slicing the ball back, drawing Aga to the net to pass her) before failing hard at hitting a winner. I don't know if Bikic is telling her to be more aggressive all the time but it's not working for the better so far.

Very tough conditions required a lot of patience from both players. Aleks Wozniak showed some grit denying Aga when she served for the match in the second set and again in the tie-break. She nearly got Agnieszka in the third before Aga pulled herself together. A frustrating match for both no doubt. Blasted wind :( :help:

1 set: Aga pushing, Aleks making fugly errors> Aga wins easily
2 set: Aga making fugly errors, Aleks choking and kind of pushing > Aga fucked this up, Aleks wins
3 set: Aga going for the lines and making errors, Aleks in Rad's pushing mode> Aga wins

Tricky conditions, both players being unable to cope with the wind. Aga actually was more aggresive player today( coming to the net often, going for the lines), Aleks obviously had those grounstrokes yet she went to pushing mode. Worth mentioning Wozniak was kind of friendly with the lines, many of her shot landed right on them.

Well on the plus side Aleks had 4 tough matches this week showing that she's ighting and that her game is going back to the top50 where she belongs and maybe higher. It is sure disappointing to see her lose another tough match against a top 10 player where she had her chances, it's getting old now cuz she definitely has the experience to close those matches out. Still a good week and good luck in KL, she could go really deep there.

I'd describe this match as more of a thrilling rollercoaster ride. I prefer when lower ranked players put some real pressure on the top-tier players.

Really difficult conditions to play in for both. Brutal loss for Aleks, she really should have closed the match out serving for it in the third, but she went into push mode.  Still, she got 4 great matches in, and almost defeated the world #6, not a bad week. Good luck in KL next week, as a seed I expect a deep run. Rads pushed everything so pathetically softly back up the middle and just waited for a mistake.

They both did. There were some absolutely hilarious endless pushing rallies. I didn't expect Agatha to be quite this useless - she was looking like a caricature of herself out there. Wozniak making a crass error every other shot throughout the first, in the last two sets just starts pumping heavy topspin shots down the middle of the court, and hilarity ensued as Agatha was completely unable to generate any kind of pace on her own, her all-forearm FH looking particularly impotent, and rallies became completely deadlocked. Windy conditions also won't help a player who guides the ball instead of hitting it - I should have remembered Agatha's 2009 AO loss to K. Bondarenko.
