4-6 against Zvonareva, but 4-2 during the last two years and two easy wins in 2011.

this vika is a much better player than the vika from a lot of those H2Hs. if we look at since beginning of 2011, her worst H2Hs are:

Kvitova 3-0 (Madrid, Wimbledon, Istanbul)
Serena 2-0 (Toronto, US Open)

in that time period, she lost 11 times to Top 20 players (2 of those by retirement) and 5 times to those ranked below (2 losses to Serena are here by technicality). she did not lose more than once to anyone not named Petra, Serena, Na or Marion - and that last one was first by retirement in eastbourne and second by the worst tank job i've ever seen in istanbul.

this is why i was disappointed she didn't play fedcup or that petra's too sick for dubai. at the moment, it's borderline boring watching her steamroll everybody. i'd like to see how vika deals with her bad match-ups. she needs a rival to keep things interesting.

Her draws this year are not that difficult, yet. She gets fair share of the top10-20 players of course, although the kind of match-ups where she is comfortable. Maybe except Li match in Sydney.

Especially missing 3 people she couldnt beat in last year and half. But right now even those matches could not tell much, since Serena has a bad ankle, Kvitty is sick/injured and Caro... lets just say not peaking.

 It was a very high quality and competitive two set match and Venus was just better overall, but I see what you're trying to do here. :rolls:

not sure i'd include caro in that list of players she couldn't beat. didn't they only play once last year when vika retired 3 games in? i am curious about the possible sf meet now though. i feel caro might bring this recent anger/frustration oncourt and whom better to channel it at than the one who stole away all the glory.

Woz also has a Fed cup win over Vika , which I would say makes up in the h2h for the IW retirement.

well, since they didnt meet that much, she couldnt beat her, so... It happens. Theoretically its right picking Caro as tougher opponent as... lets say Stosur.

I dont think Caro can channel her inner "frustration" that much to make it decisive, she isnt really that type.
OTOH, I think Vika feels some revenge, or desire to show she is the better. Not to us, but to Caro.
Right now I dont think Caro could win 5 or more games.

Victoria has a 245-110 H2h, 69.0% you'll not find many relevant players who has a good H2h against her... anyways I'll still post the list.

30 players in the 135 she faced on the main draw have a winning H2h against her (22.2%) -- as you can see by winning it's by 1-2 matches in average. Only Serena has a +5 winning H2h but that doesn't count because they haven't play in 2012 Vika's best year.

You really need help instead of spending each and every of your living time hating in Vika's thread -- Victoria isn't Serena and I can understand your frustration when Serena wasn't able to dominate the tour after she had won her first slam but please get a grip.

Victoria put you wrong on all your predictions last year when you was mocking her also saying things like she doesn't have ownership on the scrubs refusing the fact -- you really need a serious grip.

It is irrelevant if Serena was at peak or not (peak is subjective anyways) but Victoria was a 'junior' (hyperbole), Serena nonetheless had more experience of how to deal with emotions, how to come in big matches, how to overturn complicated situations etc... Victoria was still learning back then and Serena was part of her learning process too. Now, it's the new improved Victoria Serena has to face to validate their H2h, that's only just my opinion but many other people think like me but will not have the courage to say it.

By far her most worrying H2H (from her point of view) is against Kvitova. Not only has she lost her last 4 matches against her but her last win against Petra was more than 3 years ago.

It's not insignificant that at the end of 2011 Azarenka switched to a racket that produces a lot more power.

Vika changed her racket and greatly improved her fitness in the last six months. Amazing what cutting out candy bars and sleeping less than 14 hours a day will do for your game.

She is a much better player now than she was in her Quarterenka days, there is no doubt about it. Certainly, every player has players they match up poorly against, and she's certainly in no way comparable to a peak-form Serena or Venus.

However, she is certainly one of the best 3-4 players on the tour right now, and seeing how Vika 2.0 matches up with some of the players like Petra, Caro and others who used to own her is one of the things that's going to make 2012 the first interesting WTA season we've had in awhile.

Love her or hate her, at least she has people talking about something besides a slamless #1, which was :yawn:worthy after two years of it, esp. when it became clear it wasn't going to happen.

I doubt they´ll meet before clay. Stuttgart/Rome/RG could be good.

Gonna be interesting how Vika deals with Petra...THAT's the one she has to worry about.
