FORMER Spice Girl, Mel C has confirmed that her 2nd solo album will be released next year, sometime in the Spring.
The album, entitled Reason is the follow-up to her hugely successful first album, "Northern Star."

She's not bad, her duet with Bryan Adams was good

Best thing she ever did was to leave Spice Girls (if she has)

Nov 16th, 2002, 04:10 PM
She is easily the most talented of all the Spice Girls - Best voice and well, you don't want to smash her face in as much as the others.

Welcome back Mel C - Hope it works out :)

Nov 16th, 2002, 04:42 PM
oh she looked amazing at the mtv awards, i think she's lost lots of weight actually :-D

Good for her!

Nov 17th, 2002, 11:05 AM
She is looking great. Loss lots of weight and looks really healthy.

Welcome Back, Mel C.

Oh and Mel has also stated she will tour the new album and that she has NO plans to go on tour with the Spice Girls.

Nov 17th, 2002, 11:50 AM
wow, she lost weight
and i can´t wait to listen her new album

Nov 17th, 2002, 12:22 PM
I read somewhere that she's been having laser work done on her tattoos to get some removed (the one on her leg. She says the tattoos were done when she was depressed. She wants to look more feminine and is apparently taking acting lessons

Nov 17th, 2002, 01:31 PM
the one on her leg- the dragon?

Northern Star was a pretty good album- I like Gaga, Goin' Down, Suddenly Monday, Why. Looking forward to the new one- I wonder what it would be like

And I agree she looks good- glad she's not blonde anymore

They might record solo albums, and they might come and go from the group, but the five original members will always be known as The Spice Girls.

Nov 17th, 2002, 03:50 PM
She is looking good :) I can't wait for her new album as Northern Star was a good album!

More Info On Reason (Taken From Mel's official website)

'Reason' is the follow-up to the phenomenally successful debut album 'Northern Star' which sold over 900,000 copies in the UK and featured two number one singles: 'Never Be The Same Again' and 'I Turn To You'.

This time around Melanie has assembled another stellar crop of collaborators. She has co-written every song on the new album except for an exquisite cover of the Paul Buchanan classic 'Soul Boy'. Her songwriting partners include Rick Nowels, Gregg Alexander and Phil Thornalley while production duties have been shared by Marius de Vries, Pat McCarthy, Damien Le Gassick, Gary Clark and Peter Vettese.

The video for 'Here It Comes Again' was shot in LA and directed by Charles Infante. Melanie is currently rehearsing with her band in preparation for a spring 2003 tour. Dates will be announced early in the New Year.

her last tour lasted for 2 years....she came in greece and as a devoted fan i went to see/hear her...she can definitely rock.
anyway, her 2nd album is definitely gonna be as good as the 1st or even better.

Mel C was my favorite Spice Girl. But they broke up. Her voice is weird. I think Emma has the best voice for a solo career, and Victoria also has a very classy voice.

Dec 27th, 2002, 10:38 PM
Victoria didn't have alot of succes for her first solo album ( which is great I think) but hope that she will have more with the new one.

Dec 27th, 2002, 10:52 PM

posh has a voice?

Dec 28th, 2002, 01:39 PM
Out of all the Spice Girls I like Geris solo stuff the best. And yes Victoria does have a nice voice, it sounds very smooth and classy like someone said, but she always got the smallest parts in the spice girls songs. Emmas sounds too girly and cute for my liking, and mel c's voice is weird, mel b's is too coarse. But they sounded good as a group because of the contrasts.

Dec 28th, 2002, 03:25 PM
Thank you Experimentee

Dec 28th, 2002, 05:59 PM
Mel C is the best Spice Girl. It's a shame that Emma's album 'bombed' because I like it. There's some good songs on her album

Dec 28th, 2002, 07:00 PM
Mel B is the prettiest Spice Girl and together with Mel C and Emma, they were who sang better in the group.

I looove Mel B and C songs. I hope "Reason" is great and I'm hoping for a new album too from SCAAREY SPIICEEEEEEEEY!

Dec 28th, 2002, 07:02 PM
The other girls maybe sing better but Mel C & Victoria have the best albums :)

yeah mel c has the best voice too

Dec 29th, 2002, 09:28 PM
The song by Emma called "What took you so long?" was pretty good. Didn't she and Posh get dropped from their record label due to really bad sales? You don't hear Geri or Mel C in the US AT ALL, ditto with Mel B. Maybe they're just big in Europe, but they're not getting another hit in the US. The Spice Girls are just done over here. Glad to here some are still doing well in Europe though:)

:wavey: Bradshaw#1

hers some info for you.

Victoria - had a couple top 10 hits but her album didnt sell all that well as a result Virgin and Victoria 'Parted musical relationship' or something similar. I think she signed to someone else now.

Mel B - recorded her album 'Hot' in the US with Janet Jacksons producer. They took her to a level although there was something missing. The album held 4 top 20 tracks, 3 of which were top 10 and one of them was #1! - her album sold bad - only 2 or 3 weeks in the top 100 albums. Debuted at a low number - 28 or 38 i think. Mel has no record deal now. She does presenting and has recentley gone to Hollywood to try and break into films.

Emma - again poor record sales. She had a #1 and #2 and then not so good sales. Her album didnt do to well. shes now back with the Spice Girls orginal manager working on new stuff!

Mel C - Fantastic sales on her first album. Really strong songs. She was on of the biggest selling artists of that year. Quality Spice

:) :)

Victoria´s new songs to be released April 2003
Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has signed a new record deal with Telstar Records in the beggining of this month. She's already working in new material for a brand new album, due to be released in April next year. According to the business letter Telstar Records send out, the company alongisde Arista Records, bought the rights of one of Victoria's first album songs called "Whatcha Talkin' Bout". Whitney Houston has already recorded some new vocals for this song and it'll be probably a further duet hit. Relating to duets, they're also managing to get the rights for Victoria's duet with Robbie Craig, I Wish, which was not released this year due to problems between hers and his record labels. The song can certainly hit the spots and be a successful #1 in UK. Telstar also reveal that Victoria has been working on a song she wrote recently as an answer to her kidnap's plot and there's another one she's been writing about her bandmates, the Spice Girls

Craig David is with the same record company.

Oh and here is the cover for Mel's new album, "Reason" due out on March 10.

and this is the 1st review of her album.

from amazon

Amazon.co.uk Review
There was a sense with 2000's Northern Star that the former Spice Girl Melanie C was trying out a new persona. With its swinging backbeat and Southern style horns, Reason is smoother, more mature, less eclectic. Like a female Robbie Williams, Melanie C is going for the classic pop soul sound that best suits her voice. There are layered guitars and rock choruses, but she never gets lost in the mix. She has cowritten each song with a production team that includes Marius de Vries and Pat McCarthy, and created a thoughtful, personal set. On the title track, for instance, a piano-led song with a jazzy tinge, she sings about being the reluctant lover wanting to be overwhelmed, while on the languid "Do I", she asks hopefully: "Am I the one / Who makes you come undone?" She resurrects the rock chick for the more brazen "Yeh Yeh Yeh", yet this is executed, it seems, with tongue firmly in cheek!
