As seeding will be based on the WTA Rankings the week prior to the start of the Tournament in question (see WTA 2012 Rulebook, p 65) the answer is: No.

I feel like in the past the seeding has included Indian Wells because the tournament doesn't start on a Monday and they have time to seed for qualies and the main draw based on that Monday's rankings...I could be wrong though

@ NA-MUG & Capriati Rules: Kevin Fischer, one of WTA’s Senior Manager Communications & Publications, confirms in one of his tweeds on February 23rd (https://twitter.com/#!/Kfish_WTA/status/172761988366221312) that ranking as of March 5th will be used for Sony Ericsson Open 2012. This goes in line with WTA’s Rulebook (see post # 4 (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=20966278&postcount=4)) and is a prolongation of last years seeding.

Unfortunately, the information of Sony Ericsson Open's webpage (http://www.sonyericssonopen.com/Players/Player-Landing.aspx) is inaccurate as it was last year. Here is the relevant part of the discussion of last year’s discussion in the now archived WTA Ranks Update thread between March 12th and March 14th 2011:

Tennis Observer : As Miami's tournament seedings are based on rankings as of 3/21, these results might have some influence to the draw.

The Boiled Egg: I highly doubt they will use March 21 ranks for Miami as Maindraw starts on Tuesday. They used to take the same week's rank into account when the qualies and MD started later.

Tennis Observer: From link I posted above: Tournament seedings are based on rankings as of March 21

Kerbicz: This declaration is contrary to the official WTA Rules - see page 64 of the document, paragraph 6/a/ii.

Tennis Observer: Nothing new: See post # 659

Kerbicz: So you realize that Miami seeding based on the next week's rankings would infringe the rules, yet you still expect it will be established this way. Why? Well, I know that WTA with Ms Allaster in chair has become a bit messy, but I don't think their confusion over their own regulations will go as far as that.

Tennis Observer: I expect that people who are running a tournament as huge as Sony Ericsson Open are in the know of the impact if they explain their seeding procedere on players entry list: Note: Rankings positions are shown as of February 7, the entry deadline for the tournament. (Tournament seedings are based on rankings as of March 21.)
