Maybe a silent agreement. In exchange Goerges has to play for Germany instead of Kerber or Barthel. I just hope once Barthel and Kerber pass Goerges in the world rankings, sheīll be dropped from the team.

I didnīt get that either.

Itīs the arena, where Goerges wiped out the whole world elite on clay. Benesova is equally good or bad on both surfaces and Kvitova canīt be any better on clay than she has proven to be on hardcourt indoors. Logic dictates to play Kerber or Barthel over Goerges based on form and surface, too. German tennis is just a mess. The men would pick clay to play Spain.

Credit to Julia in the first set for playing awesome and pushing Petra around with equal or superior firepower.

I absolutely love how Krunic, a girl who has the built of a 12 year old, is continually making a fool out of big Wickmayer.

Also stunned at how Krunic is able to serve at 180 km/h when she's like 1m50. :worship:

I donīt know whether a long break will help. These kind of injuries tend to get better with rest and light strengthening training. Youīll sleep in your own bed, train controlled, feel fine. Then you travel in uncomfortable airplanes, play a few stressful matches, still execute the same technique and strokes that led to your injury and it all breaks open again. Itīs really a horrific injury for athletes and tennis players in particular. Guys like Buffon or Higuain have made it back with surgery recently, others like German football internationals Friedrich or Schneider (admittedly late in their careers) called it quits, because the pain remained. I think they need to lighten the schedule or change events like Doha/Dubai to clay, cause the hardcourts are killing the top players.

for those who already suffering a long break with special training still better than doing the same "comeback" after 3-4 months, like Dinara tried 3-4 times then gave up (after damaging 2-3 different vertebra).
Surgery isnt option in every case, and even then its not easy to take it. Szavay is dwelling on it since a year now, still scared that she cant play after surgery. (well, not like she can nowadays anyway.)

of course hard courts killing them. If someone couldīve show some data with average rally length and average ballspeed from past decades... would be easy to prove how much more damaging this sport became.

Iīm in no way saying surgery is (always) the best option. Can make it better, can make it worse, can make no difference at all. I meant as an alternative to conventional treatment it guarantees no long-term success either.

For anyone wondering whether that AO loss would devastate Na Li and send her game into another six months hiatus, I guess we are close to a YES. That should also squash the idea that Na Li couldnīt cope with the French Open title. It was the Lisicki loss that crushed her, not the Cookies&Cream. :p
