DF gives Mona the 3rd set :haha:

I would give credit to Mona for that double fault and the return error off of Mona's 2nd serve at 5-2 because up until 5-2 Mona really outplayed Yanina in that TB. She went for her shots and stepped up her court position and her game by a couple levels in that tiebreaker.

Kirilenko - Hantuchova 5:5

Kirilenko broke Daniela in the opening game and held the break till 5:4. Then she served for the set and immediately fell 0:40 behind (what a surprise). However, she played some good points to go to deuce. Afterwards a terrible FH UE to give Daniela another BP. Then some hardcore pushing from Kiri with Daniela eventually hitting a nice BH winner.

Now very convincing service game for Hantuchova, Kiri to serve against the set.

so I can't even express my opinion without getting ridiculed for it? Bartoli is making errors and Kerber is counterpunching - woohoo, a new tennis saviour indeed

Marion doesn't have it in her this time. Her only hope is that Angelique gets tight when closing it out for her first title.

Damn, she can even slice from the baseline

But it's her crosscourt "flick" forehand that is doing major damage.

Plus this is obviously the purple patch of Kerber's career. I remember her playing years ago and I don't think that much has changed.

Her fitness has changed and that has changed her whole game. Just like Azarenka would have never been able to pull out the Aussie Open against Radwanska or Clijsters a few years ago. This year it were actually her opponents that got tired. Kerber alwas had talent, I remember seeing her years ago against Henin thinking she shouldn´t have lost that set. She is better.

Didn't get her anywhere though did it, apart from a 6-3 6-0 thrashing of her own :lol: in a GS final nonetheless. I don't know what was more embarrassing, the thrashing in the AO final from Serena or this one from Azarenka :help:

Doesn't sting at all, not when Petra beat you fave in Petra's first GS final in two sets :worship::worship: :tape: That match was much more important than the AO SF. It was Wimbledon afterall and Maria had already been in a Wimbledon final and Petra hadn't and she beat her in twov:lol::lol: :wavey:

NB. I know you were referring to the Kerber match and don't call me a tool otherwise I will report you for insulting me for no reason. I chose to talk about Sharapova's losses in the finals of GS and there's nothing you can do about it :)

She's obviously gotten much better stamina, she's always been rather quick around the court even though she doesn't look like she is. And yes, she has always had talent and potential to do well, but primarily her fitness and injuries have stopped her from playing like this. This game was always there but she had a lot of struggles with injuries IIRC, not sure though.
