It never worked with us on court. I mean we lost to two nobodies today. I cannot take this anymore. Of course, Ndjamena is a great doubles player but we just don't match. I wish her all the best for the future with other partners. I'm sure she can win some more grand slams but simply not with me. Sorry, Ndjamena."

On future partners: "From next week, I will be teaming up with Miranda Frost. I hope that works out better."

Ndjamena has come far but not far enough to stop her doubles partner from her Grand Slam quest. Nevertheless, she will rise a few spots in the new rankings. Xhakalinda hopes to win this Australian Junior Open since this will remain her only chance to do so [she turns 18 next January].

Pippa Mydelton def. Carol Chan 0-6, 6-4, 6-3
Pippa won her semi-final with the exact same score as Xhaka which points to a thrilling final. Carol, on the other hand, has shown a remarkable season so far and will surely keep on impressing. She is the top favorite to take over the number one junior spot in singles after Xhaka's departure next January.

[4]De Melo/Ljungljung def. [WC]Andrinopoulos/D. Bothavska 6-2, 7-5
Fernanda and Mélina win their maiden grand slam title as a team which will remain their last as well, since Mélina announced her retirement after Australian Open. Fernanda who is the owner of two grand slam doubles crowns [being the only player to achieve this in the history of FWTT Juniors] will have to find another partner to win the missing two [she also won Wimbledon 2011 with X. Saikikimbondwe].

Jan 27th, 2012, 04:00 PM
Or how a happy moment can turn in to a nightmare so fast? Melina announcing retirement without even notifying Fernanda about it first :(

Fantastic tournament! :yeah:

Jan 27th, 2012, 05:50 PM
After a long talk with Melina about her reasons to retire, Fernanda now understands her personal reasons to leave the junior tour.
Fernanda herself however is determined to continue on the junior tour and that is why the reigning AO and Wimbledon junior doubles champion is currently searching for a new doubles partner for 2012.
