No thread yet?

Jarka just beat Medina Garrigues 6-3 3-6 6-3. Not sure how many people watched it but it was an awesome match very high quality. Still a few to many unforced errors. Next up she has Marion Bartoli.

Still, mind boggling amazing or mind numbingly awful. Was pretty exciting in the end, good atmosphere.

First match out of the way, hope it gets better!

Saw the end. Not bad but not good, in my opinion. Up and down. Kind of normal for Jarka.

Control in general, and particularly on the backhand, as always, seems to be a slight issue. Hits the net a fair amount when she tries to go up the line with the bh side. I think that bh is going to be the thing she has to solve if she ever wants to be at a really elite level.

I think Marion will be tough. She'll target Jarka's bh with some power and probably Jarka will miss a few too many.

She looked great oncourt though. Looked quite fit.

Lost the mixed 11-9 in the super tb with Lleyton. They were 5-1 up in the match tb. Had MP at 9-8 up, but Verdasco hit two big serves at that point. Last shot was Jarka's bh going long, unfortunately, off a topspin fh from Verdasco.

I only saw the mixed doubles. Sad they lost but I really enjoyed the match :)

I enjoyed all the matches today. Jarka was patchy in her match but its the first match of the season, I thought the first and third set was pretty good.

The doubles was fun to watch, sucks they lost. I was getting annoyed everytime Lleyton was crossing and dumping the ball into the net, I just really wanted them to win :p

Oh poor Jarka.  Couldn't get her game to work and was double bagelled by Marion (who was serving fantastically) and on the verge of tears near the end. Marion gave her a hug to comfort her at the net. Never mind Jarka, there are days like that. But you can turn it around and play better next match.

Hope this doesnt destroy her season considering how sad she looked.

Horrid  Hopefully this match is an abberation for her.

The lack of fight or even agro about how she was playing was disturbing.

Bartoli was great nonetheless :worship:
