TENNIS TIPPING #52A | ITF TYUMEN
CHALLENGER TOUR FINALS

http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n371/tennismaster8820/tyumen1.jpg

What is Tennis Tipping?

In the game, participants pick the winners of all main draw matches and are placed in a knock-out system. That means each participant plays a different participant and whoever predicted the winner of most matches correctly, moves on to the next round. The same applies for doubles, but you're in a team format and your scores are combined.

Note:
In case a player (i.e. the actual WTA Player) retires in a match, there's new retirement rule for 2011. The new retirement rule means that matches involving a retirement WILL count in TT, as long as the leading player is 1 set up. If players are replaced by a lucky loser after the start of Tennis Tipping, these matches will be cancelled.

New tie-break method: http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=425109

How to Sign-Up:

One can only play this game if he has created an account in this forum at least 3 months ago AND has at least 100 posts.

Just post here that you would like to play. You can only play one tournament per week. Entries will be based on ranking. Everyone can commit.

More information: http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=425105

How to send in picks:

Picks can be sent in as soon as the draws are ready. Remember, you pick a winner inevery match! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: [TT: Tyumen, day #]. Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play each day. If you are in singles and doubles then you can use different picks for each if you want to. For doubles, you still tip the WTA singles matches, not the doubles! No changes can be made after the play has started.
You have to send picks before play starts, late picks won´t be accepted!

In case of emergencies/pick sending problems: Only in case of circumstances that a tt player cannot send picks to the manager of the tournament one can send his picks to the below e-mail address. The board will be able to access this account and picks sent here will be counted as normal. Please note that it should ONLY be used in emergencies. Also, a person who uses this method of sending picks should alert the tournament manager and a board member as soon as possible because the account won't necessarily be checked every day.

ttboard@hotmail.co.uk

Good Luck, your manager Anđelko :hatoff:

Time to post some interviews!
First one will be from fantastic Ethiophian Clowns!
Number two in both singles and doubles challenger race, part of best doubles team!!!!

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
I’m honestly surprised I was able qualify for so many semifinals and win so many events and get to where I’m at this week Winning Dubai was a huge task .Though I’m very proud my play got better while being at home in the States.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Nothing really just have to focus on each match as they come and hopefully stay away from the hated SR’s TB’s hopefully luck will be on my side in Russia this week. I’m excited about doubles though I really feel we have talent to go far here though we need to set the tone in the 1st match.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
I really don’t like to name names because there’s some major names here this week in Tyumen. No need to give them bulletin board material before the matches.

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
I feel group play brings out the best in TT players and were all going to see some good tennis this week

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
Starts with a C ends with a U. Some people say that Romanian has wings on the heels of their feet. My winter group opponents Sasja and Tuckii aren’t that far behind as they always given me fits. On the Doubles side I’d say Bart/Highlandman, Kev. /valac222 and I can’t ever forget the world’s most dangerous Brazilian wtatourfan.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
I would say the Hookers and Blow tournament of Las Vegas. From what I remember their Orange Julius and pigs in a blanket was fantastic. As for the tennis play you have to ask Pedropt because I don’t remember.

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Hands down Curcubeu in singles was like I playing against a bullet train this year in some events In doubles would have to say my Partner. The Pedropt has pure class in doubles just knows how to get out of tight situations when the chips are down perfect leader on the court my hope is we’ll see’em in the WTA Events next year in some form . Bart/Highlandman and valac222 also had excellent seasons . Though I’m extremely disappoint ed wtatourfan/ Daszmarelli wont be able to team up as I feel we are robbing our wonderful fans some sort not having them team up because they have some class.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Being a Californian I would say no but my partner Pedropt has been preparing for this week eating Francesinhas in a meat locker watching old Benfica matches so I know they’ll will be prepared for the events this week.

Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
For others sure but Never for me your talking to a man with blue feet dammit ! Now where’s my fee for this interview ? I need to pay Pedropt for parking.

Big thanks for answering! :yeah: :wavey:

Interviews

Ethiophian Clowns (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=20632544&postcount=71)

Next interview is from great player and manager Kev.

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
My season has been alright, a few titles but from the rest of that is just RD1 losses. Haven't really gotten anywhere in singles but I am glad I have hit the top 100 for doubles.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Since is round robin, I expect that we could win a match. But I'm not sure, my first time here in Russia.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
Look forward to playing Ethiopian Clowns, we use to always meet each other in singles, but not that often now as he is progressing so fast. Also like to see lizzard11120 return from such a long break :)

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
I like it more as a round robin, seems more like a special event.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
For singles and doubles probably Ethiopian Clowns.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
I only have my 1 challenger singles titles, but apart from that probably my first one, me and Ianto_Jones were really doing great then.

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Most likely to be Ethiopian Clowns, he/she has progress so much and quickly. Also Bart and Highlandman, they have won so many titles when I have been managing.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
No I don't think it is a problem, players should just suck it up and wear more clothes. Maria Sharapova was born in Siberia!! So just suck it up if she can :)

Michael!
Dec 25th, 2011, 06:59 AM
Hessie and Sasja are both in the draw now, tennismaster8820 put them separated in the draw, which seems to be fair, as no doubles teams qualified for the challengers masters!
So hessie/freshi and Sasja/wtatourfan are the teams for the next 2 days of RR!
lucian_iasi and Chrissi are out of the competition (which they would be anyway, no matter which rule we would use here  )

But as we said, only exhibition this year anyway :D

Kev. (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=20634013&postcount=76)

Next interview is from buji  :

1) How are you satisfied with this season?

I didn't even think that I would have time to play here even though I did play in MTF. I just thought of giving it a try and got some good results. Hope this continues next year too

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?

I'm at least proud that in my first year I'm selected for challengers champs, so I won't feel bad if I lose early

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?

Curcubeu without doubt  my so called nemesis

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?

The group one:)

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?

I seriously dont know about players I have played and lost . That's the reason I started managing TT.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?

Don't mistake me I again honestly don't remember the place where I have won. I'm such and such occupied these days :(

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?

Hmmmm Tuckii I guess in singles and Chrissi/Freshi are good. Michael! is a good player.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?

I guess I need a warm partner to accompany with me the whole week

Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?

Hmm some players won't play well in indoors as like Rafa :( so I guess some will face problems to get suited to it. Thanks for the interview finally!!Happy christmas and new year:)

Thanks to buji for answering! :yeah: :)

Next up is Freshi who scored first win in doubles partnering hessie.

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
It is my first season in the lady's tennis and I am actually very pleased with it. Just in the middle of the season I could enjoy some success to which I owe place in the top 100. Also in the doubles I have made it with my constant partner Chrissi_like in the top 100.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
I am represented here only in the doubles and there we are just still as the eighth team, besides ... it's great to be present generally in the last tournament of the season ... we will simply enjoy it

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
All doubles players here at the start are great ... I hope every match becomes a nice experience

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
I find the tournament exactly proper ... like in the WTA it should also be played in the Challanger season with only eight participants ... also the Round Robin system I find for the end well

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
I don't really want to comment here ... there were already some tournaments where I always had to play against the same opponents... at least I had such feeling :) ... I am only glad that I did not have to play in the singles against my doubles partner

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
This is hard to say ... winning titles in the singles as well as in the doubles were great experiences ... I hope next year still comes in of her or other success in addition

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
If I look the list of the participants, you could say it here actually for every player ... I certainly had to face everybody... beside my partner I have to choose Kirilenko-Fan, however ... the others are also all great players

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
LOL ... nice question ... the temperatures outdoors should not disturb us in the hall :))

Kirilenko-Fan tells us more about his views:

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
As I started to play TT this year in January, I'm quite happy with my results. There were many ups and downs...

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Nothing! But my partner will keep us on track.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
Matches against Chrissi and Freshi are always very presticious for me as I know them quite well. Above that I always like to play against Fabian (Highlandman). It's funny that we are all in the same group :D

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
I have no strong opinion about it.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
Probably I was the biggest opponent myself in some cases.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
Johannesburg with mcb :)

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Difficult to say. I think you can't compare someone with 10 challengers played and someone with 30 challengers played.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
In contrast to the current temperatures, the last winter in Germany was very cold as well. That might be an advantage:p

Let's hear what arrogantconfident Djezonfly has to say:

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
Breaking into the top 50 in my first season on the tour is a huge achievement imo so I'm pretty satisfied.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
I'm gonna tear up the field.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
I don't know who my opponents are tbh.

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
We don't need mugs ranked between 9 and 16 to play this tournament smh. 8 players is more than enough.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
Lol most of the players on the ITF tour suck balls. I'd say the toughest opponent I played was on the WTA tour (aka the real tour) and it was my nemesis Uncle Jason. He's like the Serena to my Venus.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
I don't remember its name, but I won both in singles and doubles. I bet they're gonna rename it the Djezonfly tournament for next year, that would be cute tbqh.

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
I qualified with only 20 challengers played right ? (Yeah the rest of the time I play at slams, Premiers, you know, not those semi-amateurish "tournaments") So, I'd say me, lmfao. As for the doubles team I'd say me and delicatecuter aka Estoril GOATs (we also reached SF Seoul, ikr?). I was like Hingis and he was like Lucic lol.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
It just shows how cheap the ITF is. Instead of playing somewhere fancy like Doha, we're stuck in this shithole. Even Sharapova got out of there as soon as she could ugh.
If I lose (which I don't think will happen, but you gotta be modest sometimes lol), it will obviously be because of the temperature

Djezonfly (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=20634836&postcount=92)

Next interview is from Bart! :)

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
I have mixed feelings about my season. I won 1 WTA tournament and a couple of challengers this year, I can't complain about that, but on the other hand, I did exactly the same last year which means I didn't improve. I hope I can step it up next year.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
I don't expect a lot from myself here. Obviously I'm playing against the best challenger players of the year, so the competition will be very tough. I'll just do my best and see how far I go.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
I think Cucurbeu will be the one to beat since he's a top 15 player. I like challenges, so bring him on!

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
It's the first time I'm playing in a RR format. I'm really looking forward to that. One lost match doesn't mean you are automatically out.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
Chris84, I lost twice in a row to him.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
Koksijde was special because it was on home soil. It's always a great feeling when you win a tournament at home and get the whole crowd behind you cheering you on.

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
With 5 challenger titles Ethiopian Clows must be the best player in singles. Michael seems to be a good doubles player since me and my doubles parther Highlandman lost to him a couple of times.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
I've never experienced such low temperature. I think it could be a problem if the venue has no proper heating system. Let's hope they have!

Thank you Bart! :yeah: :)

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
Loving every minute! Hooking up with Kirilenko-fan was a great move :worship:

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Definitely the big trophy :p

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
Every opponent is a challenge in their own way. You never know if you are going to get on court with a good or bad day until match is finish

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
Happy either way. Never done it this way so it's good to try new things.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
Don't look at my opponents before matches because everyone goes for the kill on court.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
Love Asian challengers

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Kirilenko-fan because of consistency and good planning ;)

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
I have experienced that temperature with ski clothes :help:

Next interview from amazing Highlandman!

1) How are you satisfied with this season?

Well, it didn't start very well in singles. I've had a couple of tough losses and sometimes also had to withdraw from a tournament in last second because of an "injury", so the situation was pretty tough and my ranking dropped a lot. But then in New York I went pretty far and up from then it was okay, especially with the win in Esperance. I improved around 50 places in ranking since September and now I'm back inside Top-70, so everything went a good way in the end.
In doubles it was different, because we won early the tournaments of Wenshan and the International of Acapulco and later then also Esperance. I'm a little bit surprised our ranking isn't this high, because I think it was a good year in doubles. Apart from those titles also a couple of finals and semifinals on ITF. I'm looking forward to 2012 since form in singles and doubles seems well.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?

I hoped to be in for singles and doubles of course. Doubles with Bart was fixed pretty early already, but in singles it was close. I have had a good run in Australia, Czech and in Turkey, but unfortunately I had to withdraw from Singles in Ankara in last minute and so my chance was wasted. It's a pity, because I played well in doubles. However now I can put my focus on doubles.
Here I hope we can continue where we stopped of course and since we are a very experienced team I think we have really good chances - especially because we are really consistant. But every match has to be played first and then step by step, but surviving the RR-Round is definitely the first goal and that's what we want to do. It already started pretty well, but it's getting better from match to match I promise.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?

Well, every opponent and every team is tough. It has its reason why they are here and qualified. Yesterday we've beaten Kirilenko-Fan, another German and mcb, it was very close, but fortunately we were able to finish it out in the end. I think both teams can be better, but it was a nice start. Next match is against hessie/Freshi, who were lucky as LL and didn't play so many times together before, but this doesn't mean they are not ready. They were having good results shared over the year and same goes for buji/Tuckii, another team which isn't playing together all over the year, but both of them are known for deep into the tournament, so I expect them to try his here as well. Especially buji is pretty tough , because he tries many ways to stay in competition ;)
It's gonna be exciting for sure, I'd also like to get matches against other teams like Ethiopian Clowns/pedropt.

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?

I think in doubles 8 teams is definitely enough. I think we have a great choice of players and teams and in my opinion those are definitely best teams and players we have on ITF in doubles. For singles I think 8 is fine too, although I didn't make it by myself. But it's fine. A lower number of places pushs the motivation of every player, because you have to do well all over the year.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?

I don't really have most feared opponent I think, because I always try to focuse on myself and when I'm losing I directly try to look forward for next event. There are some great player I didn't play against even, like my doubles partner Bart who I faced only twice in three seasons. However I somehow have a problem with thoe Chinese players, they have some trick to push me on my limit and often it's not enough for whatever reason, although I find they are not doing something really special.
I think all opponents here are tough though and every match starts from zero again. Same goes for doubles, but there the experienced teams like Ethiopian Clowns/pedropt or lucian_iasi/wtatourfan definitely force you to play very well. I love those challenges and the competiton, it's fun. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but fortunately more win than loss in the end.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?

In singles I've won Esperance, so I take it, but also for doubles I take Esperance, because it was the double for me. And winning both competitions is a great feeling, I loved it. It was a nice week.

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?

Myself? ;) Well, it is difficult to take one, because some play more and some play less on the ITF.
In singles I definitely have to mention Curcubeu, because he gets stronger with every match he is winning, same for Tuckii. On the other side I also have to mention my doubles partner, Bart, because he is definitely one of the most consistant player on challengers. You almost never see him losing before Semis when he is playing challenger. It's almost impossible to beat him then. Ethiopian Clowns is a wall in finals with a great record in them, but he is maybe lacking a bit consistancy. I'm always happy to play him in earlier rounds, because there you have a better chance.
In doubles, apart from us, I go with Ethiopian Clowns/pedropt or lucian_iasi/wtatourfan, but the others here a great competitiors in doubles as well like Kev., buji or Tuckii, but they change their partner more often, which can be a disadvantage against the experienced teams.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?

I'm fromer a colder area in Germany, so I know how to handle it, but if you don't have experience with it, you probably fast get annoyed by those air conditions. You just have to try to blend it out as much as you can, then it should be fine.

Thanks to Highlandman for great interview! :yeah:

H2H decides when two players are tied.
If more players are tied then whoever had most correct picks from all rounds combined goes through! If that also is tied then we look at SRs from all rounds and if that is tied then we look at incorrect 2-1 Srs first and then TB matches to determine the winner.

It is possible however it will require a few conditions to be met.

First you need to lose unless through TB(then i dont know what will happen as it would be equal Points and SR)
Second Ethiopian Clowns/pedropt then need to win and make up a 2 point gap and still require the SR to get infront.

Lots of different things could happen. Sasja and WTAtourfan can still qualify.

Highlandman (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=20636139&postcount=104)

Next interview is from sensational Curcubeu!:hearts:

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
I'm very satisfied with my season to be honest. It all went so fast. I started the season like many other people here as a complete rookie, not expecting much than a few wins here and there, but in the end I managed to win 3 challenger titles and propelled myself into the Top 20 of the rankings. Next year is going to be my first full season among the big guns. I ust hope to confirm my results from 2011.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Not that much to be honest.
After the great media hype in Romania around me and my US Open final, I was handed through talk shows and official VIP meetings like an ox over the market. I can barely cross the road without getting acknowledged by my fans, especially the girls are cute. (I hope my girlfriend doesn't read this now)
It would be a lie to say that I wouldn't enjoy it :oh:, but when they even discussed constructing a life-sized statue of me in front of the House of Parliament I had to say 'No'. Those were all reasons why I pretty much sucked for the rest of the year and I hope to get a somehow decent result here knowing that my reputation as the big favourite is questioned.
Players like me should already play the WTA YEC, anyway... ;)

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
There are a lot of people I've already met on the cruel ITF-tour, battling through hours of sweat and labour. I know many of them pretty well and get along with most. I'm just happy to see the old faces here again fighting for the challenger crown!

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
Every format has its advantages. Playing with a 16er main draw would allow more people to enter, but for most of them the tournament would be over before it actually begun. And it should be a celebratory event, so I personally prefer the current size, where all 8 players can present themselves in front of their fans.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
The matches against leftyness and Ethiopian Clowns were all pretty epic. We have played each other very often. Kev. and buji also gave me a hard time whenever we met. If I'm honest I prefer playing against the 'stars' on the WTA tour when I'm not so involved personally and still feel myself being the underdog.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
Plantations, simply because it was the very first of my career, on my second try ever. I had to play my beloved compatriote Andrei in the finals and got myself back into the match after being a set and a break down. I'm still considering this win as the initiator of my strong rise in the rankings!

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Myself as the Top seed of course! ;)
Nah, I started whoring up so many challengers at the beginning of the year failing early in most of them. Djezonfly's avarage result stats are much better I think. He is someone to look for!
Concerning the doubles, pedropt/Ethiopian Clowns is the only possible answer for me. They are so much fun to look on court and off court. They really enjoy playing together! What a great team for the future!

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
-15°C is very cold, but the Siberian wind makes it even worse. I don't think I've ever felt so icy in my life and I hate winters anyway, but what do you do for you career?
I love to exhaust my body to the very end, it's definitely a special experience for me here!

I don't know if it will influence my performances here, but I prepared well sleeping with ice cubes under my bed, supping ice cream. ;)

Good luck to everyone, merry Christmas and a happy new year!

:wavey:

Big thanks to Curcubeu for this! :)

Next one is from leftyness who used his last chance to qualify here! :)

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
I am reasonably happy with my season. I debuted last January, and will begin 2012 safely in the top 100, so I can avoid quals for Melbourne.

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
To sharpen my game as the 2012 season gets closer, and to keep my hands off the Christmas candy while I peruse the matches.

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
I’m 0-5 against the players in the Summer Group, so I’d like to improve on that sorry stat, if I get the chance.:o

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
This is my first time playing in the round-robin format, so I’m looking forward to it.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit
Plenty of choice there. Curcubecu defeated me in 2 semi-finals. I’m 0-2 against Tuckii and Sasja. As the lowest qualifier, I’ve racked up plenty of losses.

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
Hmmm, not much choice for me there, so I’ll go with...*mull, ponder, etc*....Pune.:bounce:

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Singles; even though he came third in the standings, Barts 10 semis showed great consistency.

Doubles; lizzard11120 made semis or better in half of his tournaments. That’s impressive.

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Yes!! This time last year it was unseasonably (and unreasonably!!) FREEZING. This year it’s a toasty 11°C.:fiery:

Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
It can be a problem if any of the girls slip on ice while getting to the venue. Ladies, grip isn’t just an on-court priority.:tennis:

Happy holidays to all, and enjoy the 2012 season.:)

Thanks leftyness! :worship:

Presenting wonderful hessie!

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
Im very satisfied with my season. I only started playing TT in March. But im already in the top 100 for Singles and doubles, hoping that allows me to play WTA Qualifying in the home country Australia in the coming weeks!

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Just want to enjoy myself here. Didnt expect that i would get to play only got in to play doubles after Chrissi-like didnt send tips. THANK-YOU Chrissi-like!

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
I have lost to Bart/highlandman a few times this year i think. Hoping for some revenge!

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
I really like the 8 player RR format.

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
There isnt one opponent in particular that I can think of. Every single player is tough in there own way!

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
I seem to be good in the USA challengers for some reason , so i really enjoy those. Australian tournaments are always good too!

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
Curcubeu is the standout for singles, being able to get to the top 15 in the world whilst playing quiet a few challengers for the year is a great effort. For doubles i think Bart/Highlandman are one of the best teams of the year!

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?

you never experience that sort of temperature in Australia. Really glad i arrived a few days early to get used to the temperatures!

Thank you very much hessie! :yeah:

Last interview I received was from :hearts: Sasja. :)

1) How are you satisfied with this season?
It was my first season playing TT after Andelko invited lots of new players to play Quanzhou. It’s been a lot of fun. Highlights of the season were winning my 1st WTA tournament in Bogota and I had a nice winning streak in March/April winning back to back titles in Wenshan and Jackson and finishing as a RU in Casablanca the week after that. Other than that I have a lot of 1st round losses as well and I have been in a slump since the summer basically. But with the right coaching I think I can be a (maybe even a slamless) nr 1 :cheer: AJDE! KAMAN! :cheer:

2) What do you expect from yourself here in Tyumen?
Not too much actually. I’m in such a slump and I will probably be drunk and sick of all the Christmas food and drinks. I’ll be happy if I won’t forget to send

3) Who do you look forward most playing against here?
Lots of good and nice players here. More excited about the players party tbh!

4) Would you prefer that this tournament has normal draw with 16 best players starting with Rd16 round or you like it more like it is now, top 8 divided in two groups and everyone plays one match against each other in group?
I like the idea of this draw with the 2 groups. But what would you expect from 2 amazing managers  Does this answer get me a bonus point?

5) Who has been your toughest opponent this season in TT challenger circuit?
Myself :sobbing: It’s not that I always lose to the same player really. All players who qualified deserve to be here and can be really dangerous....
http://gifsoup.com/imager.php?id=72274&t=o (http://gifsoup.com/view/72274/serena-rome-and-madrid.html)

6) What's your favorite challenger title of the year?
Maybe Jackson. I went from playing Miami travelling to China and win a challenger there, from there I travelled all the way back to Jackson and win the title there in both singles and doubles. Yes, I may be a journey woman but I love it. At the start of the season my goal was to play more tournaments than Julia Cohen and I very well succeeded :drive:

7) Who is the best singles and doubles challenger player of the year in your opinion?
There are so many. I’m not quite sure....
http://gifsoup.com/imager.php?id=72274&t=o (http://gifsoup.com/view/72274/serena-rome-and-madrid.html)

8) Current temperature in Tyumen is -15°C, have you ever experienced such low temperature?
Do you think it can be a problem for players even though it is played indoors?
I asked my bff Maria Sharapova for advice and she basically said that I just should drink lots of Vodka during changeovers :drink: I will be partying and dancing to keep me warm, Also I bought some good (but not so sexy) thermo underwear :oh:

Big thanks to Sasja! :worship:
I would give you extra point but I guess others wouldn't like it!

Ice-cream tomorrow, pre-season training the day after. Good luck to the semi-finalists. Hopefully our winter group qualifiers can do the biz.
