French Team Captain Nicolas Escudé has again left Marion Bartoli off the Fed Cup team due to an ongoing dispute over the independent coaching setup with her father Walter and nominated Pauline Parmentier (# 70), Virginie Razzano (# 84), Alizé Cornet (# 85) and Aravane Rezaď (# 120) for their Wourld Group II opening round tie (http://www.fedcup.com/en/results/tie/details.aspx?tieId=100017601) against Slovak Republic in Bratislava for two x two singles and one doubles rubber. As a consequence, Virginie Razzano (awarded MD-WC in 2011), Alizé Cornet & Aravane Rezaď cannot play in QD 637K Paris (Pauline Parmentier didn’t enter), but they knew that there are only two MD-WC available. As cut for 220K Pataya City (Iryna Brémond # 94 wil play there) is # 127 right now, they had an option if they like to compete the week after Fed-Cup. As - according to Fed Cup Rules – two of the nominated four players may be changed one hour prior before the draw, I understand your comments that Kristina Mladenović (# 145) will travelling to Bratislava as a hitting partner and hopes to makes the cut (Alt 5) for MD 220K Pattaya City. As I always prefer win-win situations is sad to see that Nicolas Escudé & Marion Bartoli couldn’t find a solution for their dispute. The French team would be much more competitive and Marion Bartoli a shoo-in for Olympics.Thks for explanation. Razzano already got a WC in Auckland in 2012. Rezaď will probably get a WC in Doha or in Dubaď. And 5th player could maybe leave Slovakia friday evening in order to play qualies on saturday in Paris. Concerning Marion Bartoli, she has too many grudges against fft. Imo, she'll never play fed cup anymore, even with a new captain. She played Razzano in Melbourne and Escudé, probably in the stands, explained that he didn't see her.
