because they are newcomers and need fft help to enter such a big tournament. Alize been given many wc but now she's too experienced to hope having one everytime she wants. Better for her to rely on her own results and try finally to get some consistency.

Being on the qualies entry list don't mean they won't receive a WC (I think?). And since Mladenovic and Garcia are in Asia, the WCs will probably go to Razzano, Rezai and Cornet.

I wouldn't be surprised if she is selected alongside Parmentier and two of the girls you mention so nobody gets screwed. Kristina is safe in Pattaya MD so she doesn't need to play qualies and she is the best prospect for France so I believe she should get nominated.

That's right. Actually tops 2 players in the original list are Halep and Martic. Then it is Benesova and Mattek-Sands.

Qualies would look quite weak as ususal as all these players (plus red-hot Barthel...) might be playing Fed Cup so they won't be able to play in qualies.

Of course one of them will be an alternate, you can only nominate 4 players. But still, France is one of the very few countries which do so (not counting the random junior player who some teams bring as a sparring). Concerning Marion Bartoli, she has too many grudges against fft. Imo, she'll never play fed cup anymore, even with a new captain. i agree with amelie momo, she should play in south america already this week(cali or the wta international) better than paris(even more now she didnt get a wc), but i mean, paris its indoors, it was 95% sure she would lose in the first round, why not going to south america to earn some points?she needs to get her ranking up, or she will have to play wimbledon qualies...
