Nthama's farewell tour calendar [including BOMBSHELL]

Nthamangela Mbangu will wave goodbye to the tour in 2012. These are the tournaments she will be playing next

Nthama's statement: I have been to so many beautiful places over the years. I want to say goodbye to all the nice people I've met in the world.

Nthama's dream: I want to thank all the players on the tour. I will try to play every doubles tournament with another player. I hope some of the big names will break their partnerships for one week to team up with me at one of the tournaments. I would be so thankful for this. That is my dream!


Nthamangela's 2012 Calendar

Week of Jan 1st: Brisbane - (with Sylvie Bailly :hearts:)
"I have never been to Brisbane. Last year, I played Hopman Cup and won it. I will function as the tournament organiser from 2013, so I won't go back there in 2012. I will play the new Premier tournament in Brisbane instead. My doubles partner here will be Sylvie Bailly from France, a former world number one in singles. We have only played together once until now, that was in Tashkent 2009. We lost R1 to Graf/Valentine but we have both been improving a lot since then."

Week of Jan 8th: Sydney - (with Fleri Hingisafrilia :hearts:)
"I reached the semi finals of Sydney last year, defeating Ziyi and Luna on the way there. Of course I lost to Jane once again but that was okay. Sydney was where I reached my first ever Premier semi-final. I would love to team up with an Australian for Sydney 2012. And I got one. Fleri has been one of my best friends on tour despite the two of us having some disputes (especially last year at Hopman Cup). This will be the first time since more than two years that Fleri and Kat separate for one event. I am very grateful to receive the honor of being the reason for that."

Week of Jan 15th: Australian Open - (with Pamela Bowden :hearts:)
"This must be the week I am looking forward to most. And, at the same time, the week I am most afraid of. I was a runner-up at Melbourne last year, losing to Ziyi in straight sets. I will never forget when I defeated Ruffy in the third round last year. This was the single best tournament of my career, I hope I can play like this once more in my life."

Week of Feb 6th: Paris - (with Elise Mésane :hearts:)
"I played Paris twice and I lost all my matches there, in singles and doubles. I hope I can win a match there this year. My dream would be to team up with Elise Mésane in Paris. She is a role-model for every young girl and certainly the most beautiful tennis player in the world. I admire her so much."

Week of Feb 13th: Bogotá - (with Vittoria Pérez :hearts:)
"You must be shocked reading that I don't go back to Doha where I won my only title last year. But I decided to go back to Bogotá instead where I won the first singles title of my whole career defeating Jane and Ziyi on the way there. I didn't go back there last year but I will be back in 2012! I want to come back to a place where I feel home. My doubles partner will be my co-party queen Visexa Pérez. Love her, love the party. Sexy and Naughty will rock the parties in Bogotá!!!"

Week of Feb 20th: Dubai - (with Kathleen Pryde-Degman :bounce:)
"I was in Dubai for the first time last year. I lost in the semi-final to Paula Masterton, a person I admire so much, she is so amazing. I hope I can go even further this year as she is not around anymore now."

Week of Feb 27th: Acapulco - (with Regla Torres ???)
"I won Acapulco the only time I played it, in both singles and doubles. That was 2009. I remember saving match points in that second set against Siri before winning 4-6, 7-6, 6-4. But of course, Acapulco queen is and will forever stay Regla Torres, I would love to team up with her in doubles there this year."

Week of Mar 7th: Indian Wells - (with Mia Henriksson)
"Indian Wells is one of the few tournaments I played twice. I never went far there, a quarter final this year is my best showing, still I enjoyed it REALLY much! It's such a giant tournament, I hope I can go deep in 2012. Doubles was usually even worse than singles there..." "And guess what...Mia Henriksson asked me to team up here. That's awesome!!! She's a former Wimbledon doubles champ. I'm sure we can do some damage together!"

Week of Mar 21st: Miami - (with Luna-Willow Bartoli :facepalm:)
"Miami hasn't been one of my best tournaments either yet. My best win there dates back to 2009 when I defeated Beckford-Valentine. However, I reached the doubles final with Jane there losing to Luna-Willow Bartoli and Martine Kartincova that year. Speaking of Luna, I would find it completely amazing to partner her in Miami."

Week of Apr 2nd: Charleston - (with Sabine Graf :hearts:)
"I remember the first time I came to Charleston, it was for the 10th anniversary of the FWT Tour and I had the honour to face former number one player Anjelica De la Courtière in round one. I lost in straight sets of course. Anyway, playing against her and later teaming up with her at another tournament are two of the most incredible experiences of my life. She is a motivation for me to fight for my dreams because she always did. I don't know why but I hope I can team up with Sabine Graf for Charleston. I played her there in the second round and I won 8-6 in the third set tie-break. That was one of the best matches of my career and for sure one of the best matches of the last year. She was and is still amazing. I admire her for lasting so long on the tour and still finding success. Let's hope she comes back to the top 10, she belongs there for sure!"

Week of April 9th: Barcelona - (with Martine Kartincova :hearts:)
"I only played Barcelona back in 2010. That was my year of clay runs. I kept winning all MM tournies including Barça. I remember defeating top seed and world number four Fleri Hingisafrilia in a third set tie-break the semis that year. I won the final against Kartincova back then and did not return the year after. I'm really looking forward to the Spanish clay. Maybe Martine wants to play with me..."

Week of April 23rd: Stuttgart - (with Siri Cornetsson :hearts:)
"This will be my third time to play in the German tennis capital Stuttgart. In 2010 I lost to Fleri who was the top seed in a third-set tie-breaker. The year after I fell to Mensarb in the quarters. My best memory is definitely the doubles win over top seeded Cornetsson/Johnson back in 2012 with Jane. However, I still have something to make up in Stuttgart since I still haven't reached a final there."

Week of April 30th: Budapest - (with Chantal Chan :hearts:)
"Oh my God. Budapest. I've gone there every year including some great and some bad memories. In 2009, I lost my first round match after qualifying successfully and guess who to: Lucky loser Gisele Noventz. She threw her racket at me and hit me but said it was not on purpose and she wasn't even punished. That loss must've been the most unfair of my whole life. In the year after, I went straight to the title without losing a single set all the way. Kathleen was so clueless, she really wondered what she should've done in that final but MM tournies on clay were simply MINE that year. Last year, I lost in the semis to #48 Chantal Chan who was a qualifier. It's hard to believe how high she rose this year. I mean she's number three now. That's so amazing. I'd love to team up with her here!"

Week of May 7th: Madrid - (with ???)
"Hell, no. I hate Madrid. Last year I was leading 6-1, 5-0 against Harper Johnson in the third round when I suddenly collapsed. I mean, I like it warm, but that court was simply boiling!!! Awful. And doubles was no better. I just hope I don't have to face any Spaniards this year. The home crowd is crazy!!!"

Week of May 14th: Rome - (with Marteena Huubere :hearts:)
"Rome is so beautiful. When I first got to Rome, I was so busy sightseeing, I was almost too late for my match against Marteena. Of course, I lost it. But I was kind of glad, having the rest of the week off to enjoy this beautiful city. Last year I defeated Pamela there, that was before she won Roland Garros and Wimby but of course I had to lose to Fleri once again. I wonder what our Head2Head is. It must be so awful. I'd love to play with somebody reaaaally famous here, so I can at least enjoy center court in doubles."

Week of May 21st: Strasbourg - (with Alexandra Anastidis :hearts:)
"I won't go back to Brussels this year. I mean, I've given up on rankings anyway, so screw big points. I heard Strasbourg was lovely. I'm sure I will enjoy going there. Who knows, maybe I'll even be seeded. I'd take anyone as a partner for this city. Actually, I can even travel there by train, it's quite close from Rome. I love travelling by train, it's so much more relaxed than in those freaking airplanes!"

Week of May 28th: Roland Garros - (with ???)
"I don't know if Pamela is still willing to team up with me here, but if yes, that would be really great. Otherwise, anyone will do. In 2012 I came so close to defeating Athea who then immediately became number one, for one week only, I know, but still. Last year I fell to Pemovic. That was embarassing. She has improved a lot but last year, I should've won. In mixed, Mapeu and me, we reached the quarters, that was amazing. I hope we can repeat that somehow. Paris is not my city when it comes to tennis, though."

Week of June 11th: Birmingham - (with ???)
"Why did they have to schedule Birmingham and Bad Gastein into the same week??? I love both events so much but I decided to choose the UK over Austria. In 2009, Birmingham was the tournament of my debut. I won against Bryanne Applegate in the first round. The atmosphere was incredible, the crowd was going crazy. I loved every bit of it. I didn't play in 2010 but came back last year and won my opener against crowd fave Paula Masterton. That match was so full of emotion and we had more viewers than the final. It's so sad she left, she was one of the biggest stars of FWTT. We also teamed up for doubles that year. I miss Paula. I'd love to play with Yanet Mori-Tu here. She decided to partner me in my first ever event and that was so kind. We even took out Cornetsson/Johnson, so it really paid off."

I still don't have a partner for Strasbourg and Roland Garros (Pamela Bowden ???). If someone would like to team up with me in one of those events, just ask! I would be happy to agree.
