From Patrick Mouratoglou FB Page :

"I have the pleasure to formalize an exclusive partnership between Martina Hingis and my tennis Academy as consultant-expert. Her role consists in acting for the development of the female upcoming players of the Academy. I am very proud and happy about this new partnership with an exceptional ex-player who is also a clever, enthusiastic and passionate expert."

She will give advices to Gavrilova, Putintseva, Broady and Vickery...

Discuss.

This is such great news! Hopefully Martina's natural tennis guile will rub off on some future WTA starlets! :)

Good. She will give some brains to those girls.

A bit of an odd choice. Hingis' style of play is much diffrent than that academy teaches.

Does this mean she's given up on the olympics?

So it seems he changed his mind about what I heard him say 2 years ago before a Flipkens/Larcher de Brito match in Luwembourg : "Power always beats finesse"

Flipkens won in 2....

I hope she keep her advice to the game, and stays away from off court activities like personal life and recreation. :oh:

To Apoleb: Juvenile response, Martina is 31 a happily married woman..give her the respect she deserves...she's a tennis legend and if she's willing to impart some knowledge to the teens who want to play thats a "plus" for them!

OMG. You mean fans talk like Hingis was a total nutjob, partying, coke of the year kind of girl.

Most of you come with that for Hingis and are kind and sublime to Capriati who was arrested in a hotel with Marihuana in hands among her group and stuff.

Its kind of stupid knowing that the amount of coke found in her body would have bypassed a normal drug test..

I thought Melanie ran an academy/tennis school? I would have thought Martima would be affiliated withbthat one? Unless I'm behind in the news!

Well that's an odd combination. But I can see how it would work for good, given that Mouratoglou is the face of evil.

She'll be good for Gavrilova IMO.

if only she had better players to advice :o I mean c'mon :tape: Gavrilova and Putintseva temper won't really please Martina I think lol, let alone their game. Daria's been horrible and putintseva is following the same path. Broady could be a real good talent but she's still really challenge level...as for Vickery she were promising but I've never seen her play nor seen real good results from her yet.

Please don't ever coach or advise Putintseva anything.

I'm delighted to hear Putintseva is training at the Mouratoglou "kiss of death" Academy. That should keep her from making the big time for the time being anyway. :)

The biggest shock here for me is that it's nearly a year since I first posted in this thread! Where did it go?!

One year on and the results? Putintseva won a $100k and Gavrilova... beat Wickmayer that time.. Hmm...
