"Jalal Yahyazadeh, a cleric and member of parliament, called it a ‘shameless act' and added that it had ‘upset, angered and outraged' all sports fans.

‘What happened is absolutely not acceptable because it was a very ugly thing,' he said, adding that the country's sports minister should be held accountable."

The Iranian football federation has ruled that the two players be fined $40,000 each and "banned indefinitely from all football activities for committing immoral acts."

He, actually, was kinda too aggressive fingers wise :sobbing: Though, of course it is beyond ridiculous that such "crimes" get punished so severely :tape:

Nov 2nd, 2011, 10:14 PM
That WAS slightly awkward, and isn't it only one person going for that guy's bum?

Anywho it's outrageous that punishing these sort of things still exists in the 21st century.

I'd heard about this on the radio news, but I thought it was a more obvious ass grabbing.

I can't even imagine what would happen to me if I lived in one of those places :tape:.

and the one who got 'digged' got fined and banned as well?:spit: What a joke. It's not like he was eager to get his ass 'fingered'.:o Poor him. Injustice. But the other guy seemed like to do it intentionally.:oh: he knew he was grabbing his butt and then 'fingered' it.:haha:

The fingered guy got into another ass grabbing move of his own, which is why he was banned: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-15533927

Those two obviously have some things going on. :hehehe: And I thought Iranians were immune to homosexuality - certainly footballers.

Ass-fingering would get a player suspended in any country for any sport. Considering it's Iran, they're lucky the punishment wasn't worse like jail, lashing or even hanging. What the hell were they thinking? Did they think they could hide it from the cameras?

this doesn't warrant a fine for either players, but if a person should be fined, it should be the guy who was doing the fingering. If it isn't based on religion, why else would the victim also be fined?

Disgusting. Religious extremist nations and people are one of the worst things to happen to this world.

Oh and the gif of it is strangely mesmerising (unlike the video). Here you go:

Well if you think that people finding it indecent to finger someone's ass in public in the middle of a sporting event has everything to do with the "fucked up religion" (ignorance is bliss isn't it ) than you seriously need to rethink what is right and what is wrong. :help:

And I will convince myself otherwise, because me and quite a few other people do find it inappropriate to do something like that in public, let alone in a public sporting event. :tape:

Of course it makes a difference, I'm saying this happens all the time with ppl from other countries with other official religions and no one gives a damn and nothing ever happens to them. And rightfully so, I mean are players gonna have to be careful what they touch now when they celebrate, it's a bit ridiculous.

The punishments are overly severe, I never disagreed with that. But it isn't an injustice that they got banned indefinitely and got fined, not one at all, I would be surprised if something like this happened anywhere else and nothing was done about it.

As for it having anything to do with religion, I don't think of it as an "Islamic" thing, I think of it rather as an "Irani" thing, I don't think any Muslim country other than Iran and maybe Iraq would have reacted so badly to something like this.

1. You're probably from a religion they have in "middle-eastern countries!"
2. The article says "up to" 2 months and 74 lashes. It doesn't mean that's what they will get. That's only what they could get in the worst case. You could be fined up to thousands of dollars for a speeding ticket, most people aren't. That said, I hope they get off with a much smaller punishment.

Well then it's just me I guess. I think it's totally inappropriate to finger someone as a means of "celebration" after a goal. Someone said on this thread that kissing could be considered more inappropriate than fingering, well most Irani players and Arab people do not think so, kissing someone even from the same sex is not at all considered something immoral in Arab or Muslim countries.

But I definitely do not agree with the whipping, it's almost like some of these countries want to go back to Shariah law. :tape: So glad I live in an Arab country where things like this don't happen.
