For me:

-2003 US Open semifinal (J-Cap was sooo close)
-2011 FO SF Li Na def. Pova
-90% of Ivanovic's losses since June of 2008
-95% of Wozniacki's top 5 wins
-Serena's US Open outbursts (they're beneath her in my opinion)

Not going to lie, but I'm still totally bitter about the 2011 French Open SF. The fact that Li Na was stupidly better on the day doesn't make me any less bitter about the whole thing!

Also, the Serena/Capriati match at the 04 US Open with all the bad calls is another that's mentioned a lot!

However, I have sworn off tall, blonde, leggy, big-nosed Eastern European headcases forever. I just can't take it.

For Serena it's without a doubt FO 2003 SF. Not only because she lost, but also because(as great as Serena Slam was) that win would have given her six slams in a row(she was not being stopped in the final, or at Wimbledon 2003) which IIRC only Navratilova's done. To think it would all end because of one hand match :o

Also, loss to Stosur because Reeree is long overdue for another US Open after what happened in 2009 and 2010. People compare this to Wimbledon 2004, but IMO this one is definitely worse. Her 18 match US HC was pretty epic, but to have it ended at the last match

Others - Venus' 2005 US Open loss to Clijsters, I feel that was her best chance to repeat her classic Wimb-USO double. 6-4 4-2, you couldn't win two more goddamn games? :o Also, Venus' 2010 loss to Kim at the USO because that was essentially the final, and the dreadful way she played at 6-4 6-6 with those doublefaults and shitty tiebreak just in general REALLY stung. Maria's 2011 FO loss to Li, again, so close yet so far. Could have been the career slam, but showed up and just wasn't good at all, and it's like all that work from Rome through the French Open was for nothing.

But yeah, overall if some sort of magical genie gave me the opportunity to change any one match, it would DEFINITELY be the 2003 French Open Justine d. Serena semi.

Only loss of Maria's this year I'm bitter about is her loss to Pennetta... honestly I'd got over her defeats at RG and Wimbledon within hours, because she'd made so much progress even making it to the semis at RG after doing so bad at Slams for 2 years, and at Wimbledon Petra was just in GOATly form. But at the US Open, Pennetta was so terrified she was actually BEGGING Maria to win the match, and she was so close to doing it... plus she would've had a bye to the final pretty much if she'd just won it. Horrible loss. And then Pennetta had to add insult to injury by losing to Kerber of all people.

Going further back than 2011, only one that springs to mind is her match against Justine at RG'10. I doubt she'd've won that tournament, but just getting a win over Justine (which she was SO close to) would've been such a big confidence boost and probably would've got her career back on track almost a year earlier than it did in reality.

Only loss from Kim's "second career" that springs to mind is her loss to Scrubareva in the Wimbledon QFs last year. Up against a player vastly inferior to herself (as Kim showed by annihilating her in their next two matches that counted for anything), and probably the best chance she'll ever have of winning Wimbledon, and she blew it. Plus it made the Wimbledon semifinals onwards an embarrassing "NID" victory procession for a Serena who was barely at 50%.

That was painful if only because the match was relatively close, and Maria's serve and groundies were both completely off. It's really painful how she's unable to string together a number of good matches together anymore. This was probably her best chance thus far to win RG.

And there should be no expectations for Ana anymore. You'll just get crushed every time and begin to like her less and less. Probably the most bitter lost from hers would be against Clijsters at Miami this year

The Penetta loss makes me even more bitter and twisted inside knowing that if Maria had won that game, her run would have been Watson, Yakimova, Penetta, Peng, Kerber, before a SF against her (then!) pigeon Stosur.

Why so bitter in hindsight? As things turned out, Maria would have ended the year #1 had she actually capitalized on her collapsing draw and made it to the final like she really should have. :fiery:

 2002 AO Rd 1. T.Panova def. A.Molik 1-6 6-3 10-8...Panova's fake injury break when Alicia was serving to stay in the match :fiery: Yes I'm still bitter about it:sad:

Another would be the 2005 AO QF against Davenport. Hawk eye showed that she served an ace that would have put her up 7-6 up in the third, instead it got called a fault and Davenport broke and won 8-6.

1997 RG F (Majoli? Really?)
1999 RG F

and

2002 AO final. :o I can't believe that shit happened in real life.

Also the 2000 RG semifinal. Another chance to face Conchita Martinez in a major final and you lose to a player you've beaten 7 times in a row? :weirdo:

these.

Miami Final 1998 - this match could have changed the course of Anna's career. Who knows what she could have achieved in her career if she won this match?
YEC Final 2005 - Really wish Mary could have won this one.
Linz 2nd round 2006 - The match that ended Mary's career. If only she had converted one of those match points :sobbing:
RG Quarterfinal 2009 - Vika could have reached a GS semifinal two years earlier
Wimbledon final 2006 - Justine's Grand Slam would have been complete
AO final 2002 - Poor Martina

which one? Kvitova vs Li?

Yes. Had the chance to go up a double break in set 3 and chokes instead :o Blew such a chance to win RG, especially considering the latter competition.

2002 Australian Open final- this match ended Martinas career (well the first career, the only one she could ever realistically bid for slam titles in that is).

2006 Wimbledon final- bitter wouldnt be the right word but it was a very winnable match for Henin that she let get away, and would have made 2006 another of her dominant year and also completed the Career Slam.

2006 U.S Open final- she would be considered to have quite a legacy at the U.S Open if she had won this one, and it likewise would have made 2006 a more dominant year for her.

1995 U.S Open final- Graf hit only 5 winners in the last 2 sets. She really didnt deserve to win this one IMHO, and it would have been an epic comeback victory for Seles.

1999 French Open final- The day Martina should have completed her career slam.

2010 French Open final- Sam really should have won this one IMO as she owned this event until the final, and it would really elevate her status to be a 2 slam winner.

2010 Australian Open final- I think Henins entire comeback would have been totally different if she had won this match, and she was really right there with a chance to. This match and a number of close losses to Clijsters early in the year had chipped her confidence away by the time of the clay/grass seasons.

2008 U.S Open quarterfinal- Venus would have cemented herself the dominant player of 2008 and taken her career to a new level had she added this title. Might have finally ended a year #1 on the computer too.

2001 French Open final- Kims career would look even better had she won this, and she really should have. Also Capriati with 3 slams is still a bit hard to fathom for me to be honest.

2004 U.S Open semifinal- No way Davenport should have lost here, and it was only due to a fluke injury. She deserved another slam so much.
