last year ShuShu Peng used Taipei $100K+H to ignite her run to the SEWTA Top 15 :worship: she won here for her biggest title :oh: and never looked back :inlove: going on to be a force on the main SEWTA tour in 2011 and will play Bali MM YEC this week

This actually looks like easily one of the weaker fields of a 100k this year...

It would be nice to see Shvedova find form and win here!

I think Slava already double bagelled Fujiwara in Osaka or something... Hope she can have a nice run here.

(Better Draw Than Some MM) ???

Maybe for you because you have an asian fetish. But definitely worse field than most 100k, and not worthy of even the crappier MMs... The 8th seed isn't in the top 150 :o

Very weak field for $100K+H. The $50K+Hs in Europe look more interesting than this.

Yari is going to slay everybody in the draw, with ease.

Same bullshit like the "fifth slam"

Bogota had 2 Top 50-players, all 8 seeds were top 100, cut was 150.
In Tashkent all 8 seeds were top 100, cut was 148.

Taipei has 4 Top 100-players and the first seed in Q is Qiang Wang, ranked 266.

Any draw with Slava and Kimiko in it is of a very high standard indeed in my book so this is definitely a very high quality 100+K field. I will be very disappointed if I don't see Slava and Kimiko facing each other in the semis with the winner then winning the final (sorry Jie).

Please may that happen.

I don't understand why people knock Craybas. When you lose first or second round, you're not playing a lot. Unlike Marion and Caroline, who play a high number of tournaments, and go far in most of them.

Craybas is a tournament whore out of necessity - unlike the aforementioned two.

too bad Yari drew Jie 2R :sobbing:

we'll see what happens in that match ... could very well determine the semi-finalist

why didn't Vania come with Yari to play here  her family is from here

It is quite strong but I think the 50k events in Nantes and Ismaning have higher cut-offs.

This actually looks like easily one of the weaker fields of a 100k this year...

Was thinking the exact same.

A bit off topic, but the strongest ever entrance list for a challenger that I can remember was Bratislava 75k(?) back in late 2006.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of. I remember people on here(including myself) were gushing about it based on the entry list alone, considering it was only a 75k.

Ayumi always does well in the Asian challengers, and she made the final here the last two years. She's always overlooked on GM (I guess because of one banned poster in particular, which is pretty stupid) so i'd like to see her step it up here. She has a good draw. :)

The doubles draw is probably the strongest for an ITF event this year though. Former Premier Mandatory winners Chuang/Govortsova aren't even the No.1 seeds!
