Our Princess Karolina will be ranked #1 at the end of 2011 with 7485 ranking points from 16 tournaments

I saw a website online that has all of the SEWTA year end rankings since 1989

http://tennis.quickfound.net/history/wta_top_20_1989-present.html

so decided to look back in time to see which players would have been ranked #1 in 2011 with their results in 2001-2010  the most surprising result was that Myskina 2004 and Pierce 2005 would have been year end #1 this year with their results from those years  and also Serena in 2003 with 7 events played would have been #1 in 2011 :tape:

I think what this says is the general quality of play at the top of the SEWTA is going down  I mean, 5 players from SEWTA 2005 and 4 players from SEWTA 2001 would have finished 2011 as Year End #1 ... and looking at the amazingly high point totals from Golden Flower JuJu in 2007, Golden Flower JuJu and Kim in 2003, Serena in 2002 :sobbing:

2010
1. Wozniacki 8035 (16 best)

3. Safina 3817*2 = 7634 (17 best - may or may not be higher than 7485 with 16 best)

2006

Just amazing :haha:

You know why these kinds of comparison don't work or does Matty have to explain this to you?

I see you can't get enough of celebrating that Woz has done a better job than your faves. It's really nice of you.
She doesn't get such a high number of threads even in her own forum:lol:

When will there be a slam winner stats comparing them to these players, though? That's when the real fun begins:oh:
Or are you too afraid?

Actually, not that bad of a thread stats wise :yeah:

the point of the thread is not about our Princess Karolina ... it is to show that not just her, but all of the top players in 2011 did not have that good of a year this year

the overall level of the SEWTA needs :help:

@Na-Mug: It was a rhetorical question. I'm sure you can figure it out by yourself if you use your brain ;)

Interesting, but there's kindof a major flaw, and that's where Caro's points and the would-be YE#1s' points overlap. Like for example, Wozniacki's 2011 Indian Wells win is counted toward her 2011 YE ranking, so you can't really compare her to say, Kim who won it in 03 and 05 and would be a potential YE#1 based on that. After all, only one could win it. Though it was still interesting nonetheless, especially seeing Pierce as a potential YE#1.

yes you are right ... obviously only one player could have won each tournament ... but the point of the thread is that Caro garnered this many points in 2011 which was good enough to be #1 in 2011 but it wouldn't have been enough to be #1 any other year since 2001 ... and that the number of points other players garnered in other years were not enough to be #1 in those years but would have been good enough to be #1 in 2011

the conclusions are Caro's #1 2011 year would have been a top 5 finish in other years ... and other players like Myskina and Pierce never got to #1 in their careers but were unlucky to play in a time with other players earning so many points

yeah but for the thread you were thinking, we may as well throw in Dechy, Cornet, Peer, Pennetta etc.

Poor Caro..the hating's just too much. As the saying goes: no need to point out the obvious all the time.

the stats in this thread are not obvious ... I don't think people realized that Pierce, Myskina could have been #1 in 2011 with their results

anyway, this thread is not only about Caro ... it is about the medicore 2011 season by all players on the tour

This just shows players these days get far too many points for premier titles and that we´re still in a transition phase. We were spoiled with our old generation of players.
