I love both of them and have no intention to jinx anyone.

But I wanted to ask - just for the laugh - who would win such final?
SamSam has a stunning H2H vs Vera, but it's a final - so it means nothing.
In addition it is the YEC where H2H is not at all relevant - Sam is not now 0-9 against Maria, Marion is not 1-7 against Vika, Vika is not 1-4 against Na... :oh:
And Vera ... well, Vera is in a final. So she can lose to anyone who is more resistable than a wooden stick in the ground.

Would it be a shitfest?

Stosur would win easily. Stosur cant be called a final flop anymore after her U.S Open final performance. Heck she never really was, she hasnt even made that many singles finals, and the FO final was a decent performance in her first slam final, Schiavone with absolutely nothing to lose (while Sam had everything to lose that day) just played the match of her life. Sam owns Vera and Vera is by far the worse finals performer. If that is the final Sam will crush Vera most likely.

Wouldn't that be awesome? Stosur something like 6-1 6-1

Well, they're both headcases in finals, so they cancel eachother out in that respect. But then on top of that Vera is an utter headcase in general, so Sam would win.

This final isn't going to happen anyway though

Both have terrible records (Zvonareva in big finals, Stosur in all finals). It would be a mess.

This thread has nothing to do here. This matchup isn't certain nor is it likely.

It's like someone starting a thread about "WWW 2012 AO final: Serena or Kim?"

Fantasy What-ifs threads get started at TF ALL the time. Just wait for the off-season.

Sam will win this final. Too bad it's not going to happen.

It would be a big ass hot mess, but since TF would have exploded already in the SF result threads, it's a shame none of us will be alive to see it.

Vera Really Got Trouble either way if she met Kvitova in the final beside Sam, even through she have beat Kvitova U have to give Kvitova the edge. If Sam was to make the Finals she hoping it Vera because if it Vika, Sam in Trouble

Of course Vera would have a chance. Contrary to popular opinion, nobody literally owns anybody in tennis, as has been shown by some of the results you quoted. But on current form it would seem unlikely that this would be the time Vera would pull one back (although not as unlikely as this final taking place in the first place ;))

I don't think it will happen, but if they do win their SFs they will have beaten the 2 favorites, so will deserve to be in the final. That's how tennis works, get over it.

Btw, if you actually bothered to watch any of the matches between Vera and Sam, you might have noticed that they are usually highly entertaining. Even the so-called rout in the QF in NY was a lot more competitive than the scoreline suggested (and this is coming from a Stosur fan).

True, although their Charelston match wasn't as close as the score looked. Vera managed extremely well to win 3 games, Sam just absolutely hammered her.

You're right, Charleston was entertaining only as an exhibition of complete dominance and power tennis. But their matches since have been competitive.
