Petra's barking is one of the best things to happen to the sport.

I am really not sure :weirdo: because kvitova come on is just so annoying and it gets louder she must have a contract with a throat losinger company because screeching like that must hurt her throat.

Again a slanted poll that has no neutral option.

For me, all or none are okay. Sure the first few times I heard Azarenka's grunt or Kvitova's bark I wasn't crazy about them but they're not a big deal. The only thing I don't like is when a player barks or fist-pumps about an opponent's UE.

Bark Bark Bark Bark Bark Pojd Pojd Pojd Pojd Pojd

The answer is obvious. Grunting happens on every shot. Barking only happens after well-played/important points.

I love Petra's bark

I hate barking. There's a friggin dog out my back that never shuts up sometimes. Someday I'm gonna stick some razor blades in it's pedigree chum.

Silence.

None. Both barking and grunting are great when a player fights, hits winners, plays aggressive.

What is intolerable, when a player destroys attacks and creates nothing in return. Barkless or gruntless, it looks horrible!

I was enjoying the barking at the end of that first set a while back, but I had a vested interest:)

I'd much rather hear a quick yelp than a 2-second wail.

This. Celebrating a point won is fine. Screaming out repeatedly during a rally is another matter.

Those people who voted for "barking" are barking mad.:silly:

Grunting! Because it lasts the whole match. Petra barks only once in a while.

Grunting! Because it lasts the whole match.Agreed.

Petra barks only once in a while.I noticed that in todays match Kvitty lowered the frequency of the bark in the second half of the second set (it was loud and frequent during moments before that) so it kinda gives you a clue as to when Kvitty stopped being nervous about the outcome and started feeling sorry for A-Rad

It's delightful! Love it when she does it.

Barking. We need more poised players like Radwanska and less freak shows like Kvitova.

the barking is traumatizing me :crying2: even though, it occurs once or twice a game :sobbing:
and yeah, I know how hypocritical its sounds form a Poova fan :)

I think Caro's grunt sounds like a bark.

I think most people here are just whiners because Petra beats their favourites.

With all respect to Aga, I'm not quite sure current WTA needs more players like her and less players like Kvitova ;) Petra's barking "Pojd" will lower down in future as she will improve and be more confident to walk out Aga type players from court easily ...

I'd take Kvitova over the Azarenka/Sharapova running from an aze murderer shriek any day. She doesnt do it on every shot only on points where she hits a great shot.

It actually leads me to wish Kvitova would lose all her points (she we don't have to hear the bark). So even if I liked her style of tennis, I think I would subconsciously be pulling for her to lose.

It really is unappealing. It seems to frighten young children in the stands. Sometimes, if she wins a point that takes more than two shots, she'll have to lean over while she's barking, and the first few times today I thought she was vomiting.

The difference with Vika and Sharapova is they're going to grunt if they win points or lose them. So I'm not subconsciously hoping they lose points. Maybe I hope that their matches end quickly, but usually that happens when they win points rather than lose them.

There's also a difference between a normal pojd (which USED to be all she was barking) and the ridiculous SCREAMS that she's adopted now. There was one point at 3-3 deuce where Aga hit a dumb UE and Petra celebrated by screaming like a banshee. That was not a "pojd". That was just fucked up.

really barking, who could get used to that?

The hate for Kvitova is really heating up already, and she's not even #1 yet.

An exceptional player like her needs a special signature.

May the bark continue to terrorize all the hatas in their sleep.

Grunting - annoying

"pojd" simply fails to explain the sounds coming out of the speaker of my HDTV

I suspect that explanation was erroneously given to us by Czech people on the Internet because they just wanted the Czech equivalent of allez/ajde/come-on to be equally famous. In reality Kvitty is probably just yelling "aah" meaning "yes". That's a better explanation of the sound Kvitty makes (sometimes it's a short "aah" while other times it's longer "aaaaaaaa").

Literally hate the bark. One of the most annoying things to appear in women's tennis in years.

This is a joke. Apparently a few barks here and there is worse than a player who screams and grunts over and over after every shot, for hours on end. Utter nonsense.

Do people seriously get that annoyed by this? I watch tennis, don't even notice/care about the noises they make. I find these threads more annoying.

lol I remember on match point she started celebratory screaming DURING the rally . Asderaki would've called hinderance :oh:.

Anyway, Petra's post-point barking is harmless compared to say Vika's 5 second wail. :oh:

Why can't all the girls just be normal! Surely its not that hard to say Podj without all the shrieking high pitched banshee shit going on. Grunting is obviously worse though...

I'd chose barking over Vika/Masha grunts any time of the day.
Why is everyone on Petra? Go attack Ana's ajdes or something

Barking, so unnecessary and disturbing.
Bitches shouldn't be allowed on court, especially grass.
