in 2009 Caro's BFF Aga gave Caro a spot in the SF by defeating Caro's other BFF Vika :p

uELXHTzct5M

I think the same thing will happen in 2011 :hearts:

Caro and Piotr probably already told Aga to defeat Vera in 3 sets and lose to Petra in straight sets  in that case:

Petra 30 60
Caro 12 35
Vera 12 35
Aga 12 35

it will come down to games and I am sure there is a way for Caro to advance

with BFF like these, Caro will never walk alone

If RADW. beats ZVONA. 2-1
If KVITOVA beats RADW. 2-0

We have
WOZ 1-2 (3-5)
RADW 1-2 (3-5)
ZVON 1-2 (3-5)

If Radwanska loses Zvonareva has two wins. ;)

This should be very close to it...

Radwanska needs to win 2-1 sets against Zvonareva and have a game differential of at least plus six (possibly seven) total games. Then Wozniacki would be ahead of Zvonareva.

Then Kvitova would have to beat Radwanska, and not drop more than two games.

So very unlikely.

Wozniacki is out

even if Radwanska wins this 6-0 6-7 6-0

No there is still a theoretical possibility. It´s a very slim margin, but possible.

For example

Radwanska wins 6-2 6-7 6-2.
Kvitova wins 6-1 6-1.

34-41 Wozniacki
33-40 Radwanska
33-41 Zvonareva

I'm pretty sure it's Woz who's out, not Vera?

Caro and Vera are both 1-2, and 3-5 in sets.

Caro is 34-41 so -7 in won games
Vera is 35-37 so -2 in won games, plus she won a game more than Caroline (35 to Woz's 34)

Additionally, Vera beat Caroline.

How can Vera be out? Surely it's between her and Aga now?

VERA has 35-37 games
WOZ has 34-41 games

So, Vera is definitely BETTER than Woz.

AGA has 27-30 games.
If AGA loses in two sets: Her games percentage is worse than VERAs.

I think:

IF RADWANSKA WINS A SET: Radwanska IN THE SEMIS

IF RADWANSKA LOSES 0-2: VERA is IN THE SEMIS

Check my post above, Vera's record is better than Caro's in every way.

They have identical 1-2 matches, 3-5 sets records.
Vera has a better game win/loss ratio than Caroline.
Vera additionally beat Caroline in their match.

rnwerner

Vera and Woz are 3-5 in sets. Therefore the PECENTAGE of GAMES counts:

VERA has 35-37 games
WOZ has 34-41 games

So, Vera is definitely BETTER than Woz.

AGA has 27-30 games (after two matches)
If AGA loses in two sets: Her games percentage is worse than VERAs.
(because she has already MINUS 3 (and Vera has MINUS 2))

Therefore:
IF RADWANSKA WINS A SET: Radwanska IN THE SEMIS
IF RADWANSKA LOSES 0-2: VERA is IN THE SEMIS (with the best GAMES percentage of those three players who have 3-5 in sets)

I don't think there's an "official" source yet, but if the rules are followed the way their presented, Vera is always going to be ahead of Caroline.
