both Vika and NaNa had Day 1 off and are undefeated so far in the White Group :worship:

on Thurs they will meet in a match that could very well determine the group ... well for sure the winner would have a big chance of advancing to the SF :p

Na defeated Vika in AO and RG 2011 so Vika will be looking for some revenge ... she is on a 6 match winning streak (7 if not count retirement) so she is the huge favorite ... Na has her work out :(

The match is on Na's racket. If Vika loses, I hope she at least gets a set.

It's still not clear whether Na's in form, but her win today should give her confidence.

I think Na will win. But I think that both Na and Vika will qualify.

I really hope Vika has a gameplan of implementing variety in her strokes this time instead of trying to overpower her.

Vika has, Na not really. I have no doubt Vika would beat bartoli/petkovic easily in 2 sets. Which means even if na wins in 2 sets she will likely have to win AT LEAST 1 set against stosur to be sure to qualify. Big chances she won't...

Anyway, this match could be good if na has gotten some confidence from today.

The last time is tomorrow when Victoria defeats Li and makes the match history so yes Li vs. Vika masters 2011 RR is the last time when Vika played with variety in her strokes... ;)

Don't forget what happened to Stosur today, family is always there to take revenge for Maria so I'd not be overconfident if I were you.

Huge match for Azarenka. With a win she could secure the group win, likely avoid Kvitova in the semifinal, and she doesn´t have to waste any energy in a meaningless group stage match with Bartoli. Obviously with Na Li showing some good form the match-up problems could become evident again. I just hope Azarenka uses her slice and mixed it up. She needs to plant doubts in Na Li early. If Na Li can play with a lead and gain confidence early, Azarenka is in big trouble.

The odds are just crazy.

I'm not sure about variety in strokes... but Vika DOES have a variety in her game. She's very comfortable at net and I think moving forward will be key tomorrow. That is, unless Na is in spray-mode and then Vika should play as a "PID" because it would be an easy way to beat Error-Na.

Either way... good luck to Vika! And I wish Na luck outside of this match. I think it would be great to see these two both in the SF stages.

Petra-Na would be  if they are both in form.

Li is an awful match-up for Azarenka. She rushes her and doesn't allow her to play. Li owns Azarenka, Azarenka owns Stosur, and Stosur owns Li. :wavey:

Definitely the most interesting of tomorrow's matches. Azarenka was obviously the much better player today, but when she's at her most predictable she does tend to feed her opponents the perfect rally ball for them to get grooved. Plus I still wonder how Azarenka's mental strength will hold up if she's put to the test, after her chokefests at the YEC the last couple of years ... but then it's probably unlikely that Li has completely shaken off her headcasey ways already.

I'll go with Li in a tight 3 sets.

seeing how awful Na's forehand is and her low confidence... Na winning a set is considered a victory;

i think she will lose with a scoreline of 6-4 6-3...

Take it, Na!!

I think Vika in 2 though. :sobbing: Yesterday's match against Maria was literally between two players in horrendous form. :tape:

I hope not. COME ON NA. :sobbing:

It's going to take a big effort from Na to make the matchup count here, and I just can't see it based on yesterdays performance.

It's like that Shara-Stosur match, Shara is a horrible matchup for Sam but even so, she has to play well to make it count.

Na's game just isnt there yet, way too many ue's, is unable to stay in any kind of prolonged rally and isn't hitting the ball anywhere close as she was earlier this year...I can't see her overcome months of poor, inconsistent play and come up with some great shotmaking today, cause that's what she'll need, great shotmaking, everything less will just not be good enough.

Li is in horrible form (despite the Masha win). Vika in 2.

Given Li's form, I'll say Vika in 2.

I really hope Na wins though
