:eek::eek::eek:

Marta was down already 3-6 0-2* and took an injury time out after the 1st set
Andrea lost serve at *4-5 in the 2nd set and then she also took an injury time out

After poor results in the last weeks (lt. to AGR :facepalm: and Moore :facepalm:) this is her best win since the one against Birnerova in USO

Next round against MJK, who she beat in Q already or again Moore

She is now 50-17 this season

Marta won her 6th match in a row, def Maria Joao Koehler again after she beat her in the Q3 64 46 64, this time 26 62 62
Right into Top 160

Next opponent is Bychkova who def. Robson and seems to be very strong on serve

51-17 this year

Marta in the final against Anne K. with a 7-6(3) 2-6 6-3 win :banana:

Marta was leading *4-3 in the 1st set and got broken but won the TB 7-3
she then had a MTO because of her injury she suffered against the brat in Samsun and lost very quickly 2-6 the 2nd set :awww:
In the 3rd it was up and down :lol:
Marta was leading *2-0 then lost 3 games in a row to be down 2-3* just to win the next 4 games in a row :cheer:

Marta back in TOP 160 :cheer:
Good luck against Anne, I just hope for no double bagel :oh::hearts::scared:

Martusia rest well now :smooch:

52-17 this year :drool: and 2nd final as a Q, 5th final overall :cheer::yeah:

i actually really really like your updates regarding marta.
i always thought she was ligitimate into the top100 as many others.
would be glad to see her in GS MD again, and am impressed that she was willing to go back to zero and restart her career.
her year w/l record is amazing, and it proves she's still fit enough.

Domachoksa, I'm glad for Marta. She is finally putting together some solid wins after choking so many times earlier in the year. Her true fans are getting rewarded. By the way, your pessimism seems to be giving her good karma. You said on the Barnstaple thread she had no chance after the first round. After the win today, you said "now get crushed by Bychova's serve in the next round." Keep up the reverse phychology. I know you want her to win but you are always pessimistic before her mathces. But, she has burned us so many times, so I understand.

Domachowska d. Bychkova
This was another good match. It produced a good contrast in styles as Domachowska hits a cleaner and harder ball from the baseline while Bychkova is the better on the defence and the more versatile. While Keothavong looked the most likely winner in the first match, you couldn't really tell who was going to prevail in this one.

Domachowska was the aggressor in this match although she was being sensible at the same time and she traded well from the baseline. Bychkova really impressed me with her defensive skills and while she isn't the best mover, she scraps well (a bit like Dolonts). Her anticipation is really good which allowed her to track down a lot of balls and her defensive slices were effective. There was a funny incident in the second game when Bychkova's defensive shot refracted off the roof, losing her the point.

After Domachowska won the first set, Ekat took a potty break while Marta got treatment for an injury. Marta the horrible turned up at the start of the second set and she seemed to go down 4-0 in about ten minutes. She pretty much gave up the ghost after that but got it together for the third set.

Both players were contesting a lot of calls and there seemed to be a lot of tension on court. I couldn't work out what was happening but I heard Bychkova say something like 'well I'm not talking to her' in a really sarcastic tone. Both players continued to feel really aggrieved about something and as they stormed off to their chairs for the change of ends, let's just say the outcome was similar to the V. Williams/Spirlea bump of '97 (with Bychkova being Spirlea ) and some words were exchanged. The crowd started to really get into the match at that point and the balance of support seemed to tilt towards Marta after that incident.

Marta seemed to get really focused after that and she was prevailing in the longer rallies without compromising on the firepower which is something she wasn't doing in the first two sets. She served out the match comfortably too (which I wasn't expecting!) and rather disappointingly, the handshake wasn't as frosty as I thought. Still, it was a really competitive match and Domachowska impressed me with her shotmaking.

Oh, and I have to mention some Marta cuteness. Just minutes before she was due on court, she posed for a photo with a really young girl and they were there with a Polish flag with 'Go Marta, Marta!!!' written on it. Just as Marta was leaving the court, the girl ran up to her and Marta affectionately patted her on the head. It was sooooo cute.
