It was a similar accident to Tomizawa's. Edwards & Vale couldn't avoid him. I think Vale knew straight away, you could tell  The fact that his helmet came off...
Condolences to his family, friends and the Moto GP community.

RT @ValeYellow46: Sic for me was like a youngest brother.so strong on track and so sweet in the normal life.I will miss him a lot.
Oct 23rd, 2011, 07:45 PM
^I'm not surprised with his touching gesture.
Valentino's racing inner circle comprises of Uccio Sallucci, Mattia Pasini and Marco Simonchelli. It was indeed a very sad day :(

What a tragedy! I still can't believe it. It was clear since the beginning that the crash was really nasty. The helmet came off... :speakles::sad:
We have lost a wonderful guy and a great talent.
A hug to his family and gf.
Poor Gresini, he has lost another rider after Kato 8 years ago.
I can't imagine how bad will feel Colin and Valentino right now.

This was accident where everything went wrong. At track. Marco lost grip and suddenly got grip back. He was a passanger at that point. Helmet grip (donīt know english word, sorry) for unknown reason failed.
Saw long clip of this before knowing end result. All three involved had no chance of doing anything else. Exept Marco. He had chance to take a slide. Rossi never looks back. This time he did. He knew. His head dropped immediately
We should go backwords.
Simoncelli - Kato - Saarinen RIP

"Best" clip. Nothing they could do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtqT_MZz7zs
Looks like his helmet was off second before moment of impact. Impossiple to say from that clip.
2 seconds later it is off. That is sure. R.I.P.
