Hey!!! So I was hoping I could get some Germans to help me out here. I am determined to get me and my family on a vacation for the first time in, ever. I was hoping to go to Berlin for the week of Christmas next year. Can any Germans here help with some travel tips and stuff and if you know anywhere I can get bargains on hotels or which hotels are most convenient for tourist. How much things will cost there like public transit, food, tourism things like that. Please and thank you!!! :)

I'm not a German but I've been to Germany couple of times.
If you are on Twitter, you may follow these handles: @GermanyForum & @BerlinTourism

It will be quite handy if you could speak travel-level German. About costs, which region(s) you would be visiting like? Say, cost/prices in Bavaria vary compared to Frankfurt. I refer to some websites quite often, like this one:

I've been to Germany twice. Berlin and Munich are must-visits.

I don't know if it's still of interest but when you want to visit Berlin you find basic information here http://www.berlin.de/international/index.en.php
They also offer a "Welcome Card" with which you can use public transportation and you get discount on different museums, clubs, restaurants.
If have have some more questions, just ask :)

There are museum passes for Berlin, too, with varying options. The first time I went to Berlin it was October, during the festival of lights, which was beautiful.

If you don't go with your family you should stay at Baxpax Downtown Hostel (baxpax.de) It's the best hostel I've ever stayed in - excellent location, great price, spotlessly clean, I could go on and on.
