Her songs are very indie-like. It's OK, but the problem is IMO, she doesn't bring much to the table. She's a good singer, but her material has sadly underwhelmed for me.

Her songs aren't punchy but I hope she does get some mainstream success. Unique voice, deep and strong and she can sing great live. I was very impressed by the songs on her album.

I know it will be hard to take this in any other way than an insult to Kimbra, but her voice always reminds me of:

iATuRAB8xuE

It's mostly the vibrato and the head voice. I guess it shows more than anything that Katy could be a respectable artist like Kimbra if she a) could write good songs and b) didn't sell her soul. As for Kimbra, I think the clean, pop production undermines her talents and apparently she sounds amazing live (so my friends tell me).

You're so gay and you don't even like boys. :inlove: So funny, so insensitive.

Her voice is unique, but I think her quirky songs won't break the Australian market. We love LMFAO ffs.

I really like her new album, but I'm not a fan of the songs which have been released. She is also MUCH better live than she is on the album.

Look forward to seeing her at Falls Festival later this year :)

Favourite song.

Kimbra is good enough. Who cares if she doesn't achieve main stream success? It's not as if charting is going to validate her as an artist. Her songs aren't really my thing per se, but I don't mind it.

She's a New Zealander. They really should make the Arias Australia + NZ especially with Scribe and Ladyhawke being nominated too in recent years.

I really adore the Cameo Lover video :hearts:

She moved to Australia a few years ago, not sure of the details though

You don't have to be Australian to receive an ARIA, you just have to be a part of the Australian music industry, which Kimbra is.

I just "discovered" her and I think she's interesting :). Her songs go in directions that I don't expect. I think "Old Flame" and "Cameo Lover" are my favorite.

I just bought the album. I haven't had time to listen to it in full yet but I like "Cameo Lover".

US version of Vows, with a few new songs:
.Settle Down
.Something in the way you are *
.Cameo Lover
.Two-way Street
.Old Flame
.Good Intent
.Plane Gold Ring
.Come into my Head *
.Sally I can see you *
.Posse *
.Home *
.Build Up
.Warrior (with Mark Foster and A-Trak). *

Something in the way you are: I really like this song, shows off her vocal abilities pretty well, maybe a bit repetitive, but a solid addition to the album. I especially like her work as the background singer .

Come into my head: The start caught me off guard, didn't expect the song to be that up beat. Would be a fun song live and she hasn't released anything similar to this up until now. In saying that, not sure I like it very much to be honest.

Sally I can see you: This is the Kimbra I like and would love her to continue moving in this direction. Almost Imogen Heap like, song comes together really well.

Possy: Example of what I don't want Kimbra's career to turn out like.

Home: Its OK. Filler song.

Warrior: Awesome collab, great catchy song. One of my favourites, can sense the Mark Foster influence.
