Welcome to Quebec City, Canada! As it is now the week after the US Open on the PYW doubles tour, it is safe to say the home stretch of the 2011 season is in sight, and the players have clearly realized this too. The players in this tournament will certainly be motivated, as they are hungry to either consolidate strong 2011 seasons with success this fall, or they are hoping to find redemption after poor results thus far, and therefore build momentum that they can take to next year. This tournament is the last of the year in the Americas, which puts it at a fairly inconvenient point in the schedule, since many players will instead be heading to Asia for the upcoming series of outdoor hardcourt events there, rather than going to Canada to play inside. However, this draw features four very strong seeded teams - headlined by the experienced American tandem of Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears, who are followed closely by Sweden's Sofia Arvidsson (who won this tournament last year) defending her title with Kiwi up-and-comer Marina Erakovic. There are also several excited unseeded teams in action, featuring Elena Bovina and Irena Pavlovic, or Mirjana Lučić and Melanie Oudin, ensuring that competition will be exciting in Quebec. With these teams and 12 more in action, matches won't disappoint and your votes will matter. Please vote now as the Bell Challenge présénté par Banque Nationale unfolds!
