I've been watching, and got addicted.

The groups are my favourites this year. I hope Hype make it through this time - not a fan of their new name, but the girl has great vocals. I'm a bit worried about the group dynamics though, as Lazy J and Big Guy seem very close to each other whereas the girl just sorta stands there on her own, looking lonely on stage. Big Guy looks hotter than last year :P

The other group that I liked was Straight Up. The girl reminds me of Jessie J, and the boy Jay Sean lol.

P.S. Surprised at Ronan choosing those twins.

I've got to admit, the twins actually make me crack up so hard  They are still terrible singers though. I think Ronan sees this over the top eurovision type act with them that would really take off in Europe....but I mean...this is Australian xfactor, so I don't know.

Mel B is apparently causing lots of troubles...she called Guy boring, Ronan in love with himself and Natalie fake. I think they are trying to hard to replace Kyle's controversial character. Although it'd probably be boring without a hard-ass though

Mel B will not win. The girls are very weak this year and I don't understand why she wants them to be able to sing and dance. Even to an Adele song. Hell, even Adele just sits there and sings, but she's still able to command attention with her voice.

Fuming at Guy for letting go of Emmanuel and breaking up Josh and Johnny.

I think they have potential and they're a huge gimmick, but it's also a little unfair to the contestants who have actually worked hard over the years to improve. I feel bad for Straight Up, they deserved a place in the top 24.

Young Men's Society are completely boring and I can't even tell if they're good singers because anyone sounds fine doing a 4 part harmony.

I'm torn between Three Wishez and Hype. Hope they both go through. If Ronan puts the twins through, it will be a tragedy, but I just might enjoy watching the trainwreck on the live shows.

Dani12
Sep 14th, 2011, 02:35 PM
I think Hype put on a more polished final performance. Those two tattooed guys were right, the rapper in Three Wishez should just rap, he is a good rapper...but his singing is just not good and it's taking away from the other two who are really good singers. Ronan would be stupid to put upfront through, although their vocals were 100x better than before, the other groups just sing circles around them...they're mentally unstable and not even good dancers. They have personality, I mean ok yeah, they make me laugh, but come on...please..

The boys, well Reece a god damn superstar already, he can do no wrong, his voice is just sublime, he has presence and a good look. I also like uhh, Rob and Declan's voice is really cool, but his look is just...yeah. I think the boys are really strong, I worry about that builders ability in front of a live band, he could go either way, flourish with his dancing or just get lost in the music as his voice is not the strongest.

Marina needs to get through, I realise she doesn't have commercial appeal in the mainstream, but her voice is fricken out of this world. I think the audience will take to the nut salesman (what is a nut salesman anyway?), he has a great voice, I was a little dissapointed with that last performance, but his voice is very powerful...he could definitely have some show stoppers in live performances. I really like Cleo (I think that's her name) too, her look is just there, she looks like a superstar, just gorgeous, she just doesn't have enough confidence at this stage, still think sh is worth a put through.

I think the girls are good, there is just no one amazing...no complete package. Amy's voice is stunning, it's really cool but she looks like a young boy got into his mother's dresser. I think Amy, Tyla and Christina will get through. Nough said ;)

Horrible decisions in all categories, but especially the groups. Three Wishez over Hype? Hype are younger, already have an established fanbase and their rapper is much stronger. Audio Vixen are dated and only sound good when they're harmonising, otherwise only one can sing well and even she's not anything special tone-wise. Young Men's Society are totally forgettable and we already have a few all boy islander bands out there from talent shows, e.g. Justice Crew and Random.

Also, Johnny Ruffo sucks and shy country guy sucks.

The judges performance was not bad except for Mel :tape:

Audio Vixen, Declan and Reese were really the only standouts. The girls and the over 25's are quite weak but the groups and boys are much stronger except for Johnny. The female vote will keep him in it for a while but I just don't think his voice or dancing is up to scratch.
Having said all of that, it is still much better than last year. Really good decision to include Mel B, she is the only one with the balls to tell the contestants how they really did.

Tyla was very good last night. Everyone likes singers that can scream the most and jump the most and put on a show. But Tyla's performance was subtle and a very creative spin on a very popular song right now. But talent like that will not really be appreciated in a show like this.

Horrible song choice for Tyla and horrible decision sending her home. It's actually to her credit that she did ok with those songs (an indie/folk/jazz singer forced to sing Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga songs?), Mel B is a bloody idiot. Even worse, she elected to send one of her contestants home rather than letting the public decide. And she claims that Tyla was more effected by nerves? Please, Jacqui was the one who sang an entire song off key last night.

Jacqui only sounds good when she screams, and even then she's toneless and pitchy. I wouldn't pick her voice on the radio in a million years.

It was still stupid to choose Jacqui herself....but that's Mel, she's pig headed and likes to be in control. If for nothing else, she shoulda just seen what the public were thinking...you may as well take the more popular act through, even if it was Jacqui. If you ask me, I wouldn't be surprised if Mel just liked Tyla less than Jacqui.

I'm surprised Mel B didn't go to the public vote, but i guess she felt Jacqui had a better shot, plus based on their last perfomance, Jacqui did sound better than tyla, but that's not saying much...

Tonight was the first time I saw them perform, and that girl is pretty but her vocals were really bad, but the guy who rapped did a good job.

X Factor contender Mitchell Callaway was accused of being rude to crew by Guy Sebastian. Source: Supplied

CHANNEL 7 has been forced to admit a clash between The X Factor contestant Mitchell Callaway and his younger rival Declan Sykes is the real reason behind an on-air rebuke from mentor Guy Sebastian.

The singers were involved in a verbal and physical stoush two weeks ago when Sykes, 15, took offence at being pricked with a pin by the 25-year-old.

Callaway, (http://au.tv.yahoo.com/x-factor/performers/article/-/10269017/1/mitchell-callaway/) a member of the over-25s team, was "stirring up" a few contestants by "pricking them with a pin", a Seven source said.

Sykes (https://twitter.com/#%21/DeclanSykes) reportedly retaliated by telling Callaway to "f**k off" - which is believed to have angered the hot-headed concreter.

Concerned for his teenage charge, who has Asperger's syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome), Sebastian (http://www.guysebastian.com.au/) raised the incident with producers last week.

The Australian Idol winner then used Monday night's live show to air address Callaway's attitude, accusing him of having a bad ``work ethic'' and ``being rude to crew''.

But it was Sebastian who last night apologised to the tattooed singer after previously telling him ``to rein that (behaviour) in because you won't last long in the competition or this industry if you do that''.

The ARIA-winner said he ``chose the wrong time and place to say it .th.th. but I definitely do stand by what I say to my boys. I tell them regardless of the pressure, you always have to have a great attitude .th.th. and show love and respect for everybody.'' What do you think of the X Factor clash involving Guy Sebastian and Mitchell Callaway? Join our live blog at 12.30pm on Wednesday. Follow it below.

<a href="http://www.coveritlive.com/mobile.php/option=com_mobile/task=viewaltcast/altcast_code=8a819204b6" >X Factor fallout after Guy Sebastian's war with Mitchell Callaway</a>

Sebastian's comments had caused a Twitter storm with fans divided over the controversy - but it did not affect the public vote with both singers saved.

When contacted about the incident yesterday, Sykes' mother Katherine said: ``I'm sorry honey, I can't comment on any of this.''

A Seven spokesman, speaking for Callaway, said: ``The boys mucking around was not taken lightly. Producers spoke with the boys and Declan's mother and the matter was resolved.''

A statement then offered on Mrs Sykes' behalf read: ``Declan and Mitchell's relationship is absolutely fine. They are together all the time and in one instance, their mucking around turned boisterous. I'm with Declan every day also and as every parent knows boys will be boys.''

Callaway has built a following for his ``wild child from hell'' back story, seeking redemption through music.
Fellow judge Natalie Bassingthwaighte, defended the 25-year-old last night and earlier today on radio.
Tonight, Guy Sebastian has apologised for his comments made on-air. He said: "I'm truly sorry".
Callaway managed to make it through to the next stage, and is still in the competition.
Callaway, who has built a profile based on his bad boy back story, was reprimanded by three of the show's four judges, who ticked him off over his attitude issues.
After receiving a mixed verdict for his performance, Callaway was chastised for his alleged lack of focus and rudeness to production staff.
Team mentor Sebastian took Callaway to task for his "work ethic" and "at times being rude to crew."
The usually mild-mannered Sebastian warned the Coffs Harbour singer: "You really have to reign that (attitude) in because you won't last long in the competition or this industry if you do that."
Mel B and Ronan Keating joined in the chorus of criticism, with Keating claiming the contestant had not learned his lyrics two days before the performance show.

Bassingthwaighte initially suggested the episode would drive the humiliated young singer to leave the program, on 2DayFM's The Kyle & Jackie O show.
But Callaway later tweeted his determination to stay, posting: "Hey guys thanx for all ur support. Dnt worry I'm not gunna quit. No way would I let my fans my family or Natalie dwn. Love u all."

I'm so glad I voted for 3 Wishez! I thought they would've been in the bottom 2 when pitted against YMS and Jackie. Yes, of course YMS can sing in harmony, but they have no star power.

As for Mitchell, he must have alot of fans as I'm sure many people were put off by Guy's comments.

Betting odds for the winner (*******) are usually pretty accurate. YMS odds will likely get worse after tonight:

REECE MASTIN 1.6
CHRISTINA PARIE 2.3
YOUNG MEN SOCIETY 7.7
DECLAN SYKES 13.4
THREE WISHEZ 13.4
AUDIO VIXEN 13.8
MITCHELL CALLAWAY 17.2
JOHNNY RUFFO 17.6
ANDREW WISHART 20.0

P.S. Natalie looked really good, but her live singing is just terrible. The song still hasn't grown on me, I keep hearing J Lo On The Floor in the chorus!

No way! Some of her performances with Rogue Traders were of a really high standard. Anyone would sound shit singing that song though, it's not suited to a live format - especially the talk-sing parts.

HXf3By8NHsY

So glad Jacqui was finally kicked out though; girlfriend can't make it through one song without falling off key. Mitchell and Johnny should be out next with a bit of luck.

The MC from Three Wishez :hearts:. We need a decent act like them in Australia, but the third guy needs to work on developing a personality and some confidence. YMS are just too forgettable, they're pitchy and they're not particularly strong singers individually.

The odds seem fairly reasonable, but they're not taking into account the middle-aged people who will keep voting for Andrew.

Haha ok then maybe Natalie's not that bad after all. She seems like someone who would excel at sing-talk, but even then the verses in All We Have were forgettable and out of breath. And the chorus sounded a little better than a cat in heat :P

My ideal top 5:
Three Wishez
Audio Vixen
Reece
Christina
Andrew

Not too sure if Andrew will last that long away from his family. And will people keep voting for him if he keeps whining about missing his family? Mel B is right, he needs to toughen up!

Christina was the standout, Three Wishez were fantastic and Reece was solid as always despite the odd song choice. I was a little disappointed that the judges didn't "get" Declan's performance; I guess it was a little highbrow for them.

Andew's reception was undeserved, the chorus (especially what should be the big falsetto note) was awful. Johnny and Mitchell were bland but competent. YMS - pitchy and weak again, Audio Vixen sang well but the song choice did them no favours and they've just seemed dated and uncool these past 2 weeks.

Bottom two should be between:
Young Men's Society, Johnny, Mitchel and Andrew

He looks hot for sure, but I don't think the 'tough guy' image really fits in with any of the pathetic, whiny music he's released in his career.

It's the same problem I have with Adam Levine I guess. You can give a pop singer some tattoos and a 5 o'clock shadow, but it won't add any substance to their persona.

Why did Mel B choose Weir for Christina? Why? She sounded so awful when she actually sang the word weir. If she was going to do Killing Heidi, she should have done Live Without It :hearts:

Declan's take on Crowded House was almost a take on Boy & Bear's version  Was hoping Andrew's Flame Trees would have been a tad more Blasko-esque but in hindsight I guess he probably sang it the way that suits him more.

Brooke Adamo is Owl Eyes? Awesome for her! I love Raiders and her collaboration with Illy. Lisa Mitchell of course, too :hearts: I love Oh! Hark!

Maybe I'm being too harsh. I don't mean that everyone that comes out of TV is destined to fail or untalented. I just mean that out of ALL the talent shows that have been already - a very small percentage are even relevent today - let alone as successful as the show makes out they are all going to be. You hear the judges saying 'You're going to be a star no matter what' and it's just not true. I know it's for the show but still :fiery:

Lisa Mitchell, how could I forget!
What I was trying to say was that because 2 of the members of 3 Wishez are songwriters, they could continue to have success like the ones before have proven. I also wouldn't mind seeing Sophia on Home and Away :spit:

 I never realised! No offence, but he's a lot bigger now and it completely threw me. Still cute, I just had no idea it was the same guy.

Me neither. On the video livestreams posted on youtube, they were making fun of Joe's love for food and how his biggest fear would be to go to Maccas for breakfast and find out it was closed

 It doesn't sound like him at all, his voice has definitely changed! I really like it though, getting good airplay on tripj!

I feel like a 16 year old girl, but Reece is too adorable! :hearts:

I wonder what Kylie will perform tomorrow, she's not promoting anything at the moment, is she?

She NEEDS to sing Get Outta My Way! SHE HAS TO!

Nothing to promote except her new brunette locks I think!

She's releasing an orchestral Greatest Hits next year to celebrate her 25th year in the business, so she may perform something from that
