Singles Results, First Round

Aveta Tenesova def. Rita Cebolla 5/7, 7/6(2), 7/6(6)
Poor Rita, another match lost in such a close contest. Aveta now faces Pammy.

Nadia Banaszek def. Alina Patersson 7/5, 7/5
Nadia was able to take this one out in straight sets to move on.

Fleri Hingisafrilia def. Alijah Pemovic 6/4, 4/6, 7/5
A long and grueling match in this one saw Fleri come out the victor.

Yanet Mori-Tu def. Zaelly Ircha 4/6, 7/6(5), 6/1
Fleri was quick to watch her friend almost take out Yanet, only to fall apart in the third set.

Yoona Im def. Marteena Huubere 3/6, 7/5, 7/5
Poor Marteena - we wonder if she will ever regain her status. Yoona was pumped after this win.

Jessamine Minella def. Stefania di Francesca-Beck 6/4, 6/4
Doubles partners squared off in this one with Jessamine coming out the winner.

Yanina Wickmayer def. Ella Felivitch 6/4, 2/6, 7/6(4)
And just like that, the US Open champion is out. Ella was very tired from her long flight and Yanina took full advantage.

Kathleen Pryde-Degman def. Anna Rurikovic 6/4, 6/4
Kathleen made quick work of the youngster to move to the second round.

Singles Results, Second Round

Aveta Tenesova def. [1]Pamela Bowden 7/5, 7/5
Aveta gets a tremendous win against the world's number one who hasn't recovered from her US Open injury.

[5]Jennifer Casanova def. Nadia Banaszek 6/4, 0/6, 6/4
Jennifer was demolished in the second set, but played the tights sets tough to come away a winner.

[7]Cornelia du Preez def. Fleri Hingisafrilia 6/3, 7/6(3)
Coco continues to play well week after week and takes out a new and improved Fleri.

[4]Nthamangela Mbangu-Zeric def. Yanet Mori-Tu 7/6(3), 7/6(5)
Nthama made some interesting remarks towards her Fed Cup teammate, but backs it up with a win today.

Yoona Im def. [3]Ruflina Taliamanosoko 3/6, 7/5, 7/6(4)
Ruflina couldn't defeat Yoona, who utilized her freshness to defeat the elder Taliamanosoko.

[6]Saba Abid def. Jessamine Minella 7/5, 4/6, 6/4
We thought Saba may just wash away after losing in the first round of the US Open (which she was defending) but she fought like a warrior today.

[8]Daria Afanasyeva def. Yanina Wickmayer 0/6, 6/1, 7/5
Daria is still trying to capture her early-2011 form to finish the year strong.

[2]Ziyi Zianzhi def. Kathleen Pryde-Degman 7/5, 6/2
A good win for Ziyi who hasn't played spectacularly well in the last few months.

Singles Results, Quarterfinals

[5]Jennifer Casanova def. Aveta Tenesova 7/5, 1/6, 6/2
Aveta couldn't follow up yesterday's terrific win and fell to the consistent Casanova in three sets.

[4]Nthamangela Mbangu-Zeric def. [7]Cornelia du Preez 1/6, 6/3, 6/4
Nthama won this first official battle of Afro-babes after coming from behind in a lopsided first set.

[6]Saba Abid def. Yoona Im 6/3, 7/6(2)
Saba loves these international hard court events and prevents Yoona from defeating two seeded players in a row.

[2]Ziyi Zianzhi def. [8]Daria Afanasyeva 6/3, 7/5
Ziyi holds back Daria, who has beaten her many times in the past.

Doubles Results, First Round

[1]Casanova/Taliamanosoko def. Afanasyeva/Im 7/6(3), 3/6, 6/2
Jennifer and Ruflina are hot after the US Open and looking for another doubles title to certify their year end lead.

[4]Bowden/Mbangu def. Francesca-Beck/Minella 4/6, 7/5, 7/6(1)
Nthama and Pamela have a good partnership that shows excellent teamwork. This win proves it.

[3]Hingisafrilia/Pryde-Degman def. Banaszek/Huubere 2/6, 6/4, 6/3
Fleri and Kathleen continue their march back to the top with a good win over a pair of veterans.

[2]Felivitch/Mesane def. Pemovic/Tenesova 6/4, 7/6(6)
Ella and Elise always get their act together in the fall and win another good match.

Singles Results, Semifinals

[5]Jennifer Casanova def. [4]Nthamangela Mbangu 6/1, 1/6, 7/6(5)
Nthama knew this one would come close in the end, especially as it is shockingly the first time they've ever played each other.

[6]Saba Abid def. [2]Ziyi Zianzhi 7/5, 2/6, 6/4
Saba continues to come back after bad losses and takes out the #2 player in the world to move to the finals.

Doubles Results, Semifinals

[1]Casanova/Taliamanosoko def. [4]Bowden/Mbangu 6/1, 0/6, 6/4
Nthama loses both of her matches and wasn't too happy with Jennifer. However, Casanova and Taliamanosoko keep up their streak from New York.

[2]Felivitch/Mesane def. [3]Hingisafrilia/Pryde-Degman 6/3, 7/5
Ella and Elise set up a rematch of last week's Grand Slam finale after taking out Fleri and Kathleen.

Congrats also to Saba for a great week in singles!:D:worship:

Thanks also to Ruffy for being a great partner every week  And also congrats to Elise and Ella, you played a fantastic tournament :worship:

"It's simply amazing. I mean, it's my fourth title already this season and to get some back-up of the ranking points as I have to defend my title in Beijing is great as well. My goal is to get to the YEC in both singles and doubles, but there's still a long way to go and many tournaments coming up. But there are so many great players out there, you never know what happens"
