Does she have the possibility to play in the YEC if she does well?

Mathemathical yes, practical basically no. If Stosur loses today she'd be 900 points behind 8th Petkovic, if not 1200 points behind 8th Bartoli. Theoretically speaking a SF in Tokyo, Beijing and Moscow gives 1045 points so definitely not enough. She is 800 points away from 10th spot too so a season-ending Top 10 spot is unlikely too.

This tournament is actually exciting.
Aga has the opportunity to play Jankovic again after what 3 years? (RG 4r? 2008) Now she is the better player so that will be a fun match to watch.
Then Aga will need to want revenge on the Wozzinator and turn into Aga BallbashWanska somehow and blow her off the court.
I've accepted the fact that Aga will most likely not be in the YEC so this Tournament shall be fun to watch! :cheer:

Not in pure numbers. She had 3 titles in '08. But she could still make it 3 this year. ;)

Very cool, but I don't know if she will bagel anyone. If she did not change her habits she will relax too much tomorrow and barely win or even lose. I hope this is one of the things her new coach is working on.

I think there are two scenarios which can give Radwanska 8th spot in YEC:

1. Agnieszka's winning the title in Beijing, Petkovic doesn't win titles in Linz and Luxembourg, Bartoli doesn't win in Osaka and Moscow, and then Radwanska may even not care about playing in Moscow, and she is in the YEC.
2. Petkovic's winning the title in Beijing, but in Linz and Luxembourg, she is not in the finals, but Agnieszka plays final in Moscow (+ not against Bartoli, she is not the champion of Osaka) - Radwanska is IN.

So, it will be a lot easier, if tomorrow Agnieszka will beat Andrea, and Bartoli lost to Czink in Osaka, and the I think it will be clear for Radwanska.
To be honest, tomorrow's match will decide, but we can be sure that Agnieszka will go for the YEC for the third time in last four years. That's amazing.

No way I was going to skip the elections :lol: That's why I registered in the first place :lol: I wanted to go now and vote but I woke up too late and I wouldn't be able to come back in 4 hours so I'll go after the match.

But I feel really sorry for Petkovic. They both played one of the best matches this year on tour; unfortunately, someone had to lose. And Andreas was forced to withdraw from Linz because of tiredness. It wasn't easy decision - now she has no chance to qualify for Istanbul.

Now she has big chances to be in Istanbul, she reached a career prize money of $6,715,085... She's back to the top 10 at her best ranking (8th), and she has also reached a new career-high in doubles as she's ranked #16 this week!

Mathemathical yes, practical basically no. If Stosur loses today she'd be 900 points behind 8th Petkovic, if not 1200 points behind 8th Bartoli. Theoretically speaking a SF in Tokyo, Beijing and Moscow gives 1045 points so definitely not enough. She is 800 points away from 10th spot too so a season-ending Top 10 spot is unlikely too.

The loss is maybe disappointing, but which one isn't. Aga has a lot of issues to work out and then can't be dealt with overnight. She was close yesterday and I am sure she drew some conclusions from that match.
