Welcome to New Haven, USA! As the last stop of the US Open series, players are looking forward to build last-minute momentum, find last-minute form, or gain last-minute confidence at this stop in New Haven. All players want to peak for the final major of the year, so this week in New Haven is the perfect destination to make necessary adjustments needed for that peak to happen. The doubles draw has a strong line-up, with defending champions Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik headlining the draw and other established teams such as third-seeded Chia-Jung Chuang and Olga Govortsova as well as Polish duo Klaudia Jans-Iganacik and Alicja Rosolska. However, there are also some new, probably experimental teams being formed this week, including second seeds Anastasia Rodionova and Elena Vesnina along with fourth-seeded Nuria Llagostera Vives and Anabel Medina Garrigues. Other former PYW starlet teams, such as Eleni Daniilidou and Polona Hercog and also Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears, both of whom have reached finals so far in the US Open series this year, with the latter team winning, could do some damage in New Haven too. With these teams in action and the US Open on the horizon, this tournament will not disappoint! Vote now as the tournament begins!!!
