Serena - Dokic - 6-4,6-3
Venus - Monica - 6-1,4-6,6-3
Jennifer - Maggie - 7-5,6-4
Kim - Justine - 6-2,6-4
I think everyone is expecting Maggie to win, so Jen will probably surprise us all and beat her in straight sets... I hope Maggie wins though as it would be huge for her to reach the semi's here as she has never even reached the semi's of a Grand Slam and has just one quarter at a Slam and that was almost 10 years ago now...

Here's Pam Shriver's forecast for the match tonight:
Venus Williams (2), United States, vs. Monica Seles (6), United States
This night match is a rematch of a couple of Grand Slam quarterfinals this year. At the Australian Open, Seles beat Venus for the only time in her career and then Venus got revenge at the French and U.S. Opens. You would think playing indoors benefits Venus. In Australia, their match was played at night and that stadium has an indoor feeling there at night. Seles certainly surprised everyone there and again this week against Davenport. So while you give Venus the edge, like Davenport the other day, Seles is very excited about her tennis right now. And when she had to in the opening round, she produced the kind of tennis we all remember.

Wouldn't that be a rematch of 3 Grand Slam Quarterfinals then? I'm pretty sure I know how to count.

Sure would like to see Venus 2001 vs Monica 1991.

Therein lies the problem. The hangover from April 30, 1993 continues to plague the tour. Nobody has really challenged the Williams sisters since February, but if Monica's career had been allowed to follow a normal path, there would have been some epic battles this year.
