I think it's time for Victoria to have her own thread. :)

She's born 2nd May 1991 so she's 20 years old. She's currently ranked 331 with a career high ranking of 323 on the 4th July 2011. She is coached by her father Bernard Larriere.

In her career she's won six $10,000 events (Tortosa, Gausdal 1 and Gausdal 2 in 2010; Tenerife, Alcobaca and Valladolid in 2011). She also reached the final of $25,000 Port Pirie in 2010. In juniors she reached Top 50 in 2007.

Her official website is here: http://www.victorialarriere.fr/. It's very well designed and is updated by Victoria regularly!

I wish Victoria all the best with her career!

Incroyable! :hearts: Victoria wins $50,000 Istanbul! By far the biggest win of her career! Hopefully she can continue to have more weeks like this and continue her rise up the rankings. Hopefully some photos of the final will be released soon.

Victoria saved a break point in the first game of the third set and was down 0-40 at *2-2 in the third set but won five points in a row to hold. At *5-5 there was a marathon game where there were six or seven deuces and Victoria finally held after many game points. She won it on her second match point, breaking the Gronert serve for only the second time in the match! :p

I expected even an easier match against Jakupovic than against Gorgodze & Shapatava. I still don't know how Jakupovic can beat Sema in straight sets.

Then Farhad or Sharipova would be a good 1st Rd.

Victoria has qualified for her first ever WTA MD tournament. She defeated Jakupovic 46 63 60, only losing 7 pts in the 3rd set :yeah:

Now hope her to avoid Radwanska in MD.

She's on a nine match winning streak at the moment. The best tennis of her career.

She plays (1)Ksenia Pervak next for a place in the semifinal. Should be a tough match but with her confidence at the moment who knows what she's capable of. :)

She is very close to the Top 200 now.

From a Eurosport article after her first round win over Z.Kucova. :)

She needs to score a couple of points before the year ends and then she will definitely secure a spot into AO qualifying draw. :)

Australian Open Q1: Victoria Larriere (FRA) df. (WC)Arina Rodionova (AUS) 6-4 6-4

I didn't see the entire match but I managed to catch quite a bit of the second set. Rodionova was up *4-3 but Victoria won the final three games. I think Victoria has a very nice game. Her forehand is definitely her best shot. She has quite a big, sort of loopy takeback on it. She often runs around her backhand to hit her forehand. Her backhand isn't too bad either. Her serve seems to be pretty good. Although she did a few double faults towards the end. Some of her second serves were quite slow. I think she was struggling with her toss in the wind. I definitely she has at least Top 100 potential. :yeah:

Anyway, great that she came through this match. She gets 40 WTA ranking points which is huge! Next up she plays (13)Mirjana Lucic. Will be a very tough match. I think we all know how good Lucic can be as a former Wimbledon semifinalist, but she's very hit and miss, so hopefully she has a bad day and I think Victoria has a pretty good chance of winning!

Victoria will play against Lucic tomorrow on Show Court 3 so once again it'll be livestreamed! Very fortunate. She's the fourth match on court with play starting at 10am local time.

Allez Victoria!

Oh my god. I was watching the livescores and no kidding when I left she was up 6-4 3-1* and was confident she would qualify. I was so excited to check if she won a few hours later and was shocked and sad that she lost. Had she qualified she would've played Petra Martic in the maindraw which would've been a pretty decent draw and winnable match. Still it was a great tournament for Victoria to win her first two matches and she gets 50 points! That's the same amount you would get for winning a $25,000 event. The win over Lucic would have to be the best win of Victoria's career, to beat a former Wimbledon semifinalist.

It's great that Victoria's first two matches against Rodionova and Lucic are on YouTube. We're really very lucky that she was on Show Court 3 for these matches. I'm gonna download and watch them tonight!

Let's see if she can continue this form. As I said, even though it's disappointing she just fell short, overall I'm very happy with her performance in this tournament. :)

I wish I could but that's quite complicated.
If the following lines are confusing, forget it.
Otherwise I'm sending a detailed indication about how to do by PM.

Technically I can add it to Wikipedia, but the issue is that Wikipedia's team is very strict about the Licence and it will be removed.

You can only request the photo is attributed to you, and that the modifications to the photo are also free to use and still attributed to you and the modifier. I cannot guaranty Wikipedia that you agree on this (especially that someone can use your photo to make money).

I've already published on Wikipedia a photo send to me by Carole Larrière (Victoria's mother). But it was removed from Wikipedia as this photo was also published on Victoria's site with "all right reserved" indication (It was the fifth photo of this tread's first message). I could not tell I was the author of the photo because I wasn't. And could not proved the author authorized publishing under "free to use" licence.

As one of my addition have been removed, If I add another photo on the same page it will be analysed carefully, and I'm sure it's possible to find you're post here with a portion of the photo.

Victoria plays versus Irena Pavlovic today for a place in main draw at Memphis WTA after both of them won 1st quaifying round yesterday !

WTA Memphis

Q1: (7)Victoria Larriere (FRA) df. (WC)Gabrielle Andrews (USA) 7-5 7-5
Q2: Irena Pavlovic (FRA) df. (7)Victoria Larriere (FRA) 6-2 6-2

She injured her rib during the loss to Pavlovic. Afterwards she got an MRI. She's having a bit of trouble breathing but it's not too bad. She just needs to rest and treat it for a few days.

With all the injuries she's been having it's understandable that her form has been quite disappointing since the Australian Open. :(

Mon premier Roland…

Je me sens à l’aise ici.

A balles réelles !

Here are Victoria's latest results. Not a lot of success unfortunately. :(

2012 has been a very frustrating year for Victoria. She's really struggled with injuries and since the Australian Open really hasn't been able to put a good run together. It's a shame because her form at the end of 2011 was very promising and she seemed to be heading towards the Top 100. After the US Open she has some huge points to defend such as her $50,000 Istanbul title and WTA Tashkent quarterfinal. If she doesn't start winning a lot of matches her ranking will plummet.

Much needed win and 40 points for Vic who won 63 61 against Ivanova. Although her opponent was in very poor form, I take any win in these times. Next week her 70 points from Istanbul will drop off and soon her 86 points from Tashkent, which could have taken her out of top 300 :help: I don't really expect anything against Kristyna Pliskova, let's just hope she puts up a good fight.

CNGT is the french pro tour. It's a way to make money in playing between 2 and 4 matches as seed. Seeds are determined by year FFT french ranking and not wta ranking. Her strategy is probably to make easy money before to play australian tour from august.

Now she's back to her exams but it's great she still try to play.
