I actually find Andrea a naturally funny person, while Djokovic just seems fake in every possible way. :o Maybe I'm biased though, cause I fucking hate him and adore Andrea :).

Djokovic isn't witty. He's a clown.

No. I don't.
I think it is just her personality to want to be different, it has nothing to do with imitating Djokovic.
Djokovic has no equal when it comes to "acting". He also seems to be easier to like than Andrea, alhtough I like Andrea very much myself.
Liking Andrea means you spend lot of time defending her for various perceived infractions in the eyes of posters on this forum.

From what I hear, Dojokovic is already a legend, a mythic figure in Serbia, someone believed to have been sent by god to make Serbia proud.
At least, it was reported his mother believed that.

Pektovic may be of Serbian ancestry, but she is German.

Right, and people who do that post on Women Tennis Assoication forum.
Now, I don't if those porsters who dislike Petko are all women, but looking at this from the outside, it perpetuate the stereotype that women tend to fight among themselves over trvial things.

Erm she's probably a lot wittier than Djkovic is. And she didn't just start being this way.

According to a lot of people on this board Djokovic himself is trying too hard. So I guess she is just trying too hard to try too hard...

Andrea is fantastic in game and personality. Clown is Nole and Medina

Hmm I think because He exists it gives you reason to come up with the assumption...I think this is who she is. At a certain point you consider the fact that these are adults...in high school everyone wanted to be somebody else. Have a good day

Djokovic and Petkovic are two completely different personalities IMO, I don´t think Andrea was even thinking about being a female Djokovic...she is just being Andrea.
Not everybody can like her sense of humour of course.

Better than Djokovic  Petko is respected and Djokovic is a pathetic clown whom everyone will hate and disrepect when he starts losing

To answer your question though, I didn't know she was even "trying" so therefore I'll stick with a firm "NO" lmao

I have a better question....is the origin poster trying to hard to start some shit?!? Have an even better day everyone!

I don't think Andrea is trying to do anything. She doesn't appear fake, in fact she comes through very sincere. You may like it or not, but she is who she is ... I find her nice.

Does that count for gay males as well? Cause we have some raging queens on here... :oh:

Well he's a try-hard so she must be doing a good job.
She still doesn't annoy me as much as he's able too yet though so.

Petkovic is trying to be funny, independent of whatever Djokovic is doing. She had been doing her YouTube and Twitter and such before Djokovic became a celebrity (outside of tennis circles).

So, to answer the question, no.

Raiden

I didn't know she was even "trying"Me neither

I don't see the Djokovic connection. Her off-court humor is actually the better side of her (as opposed to her other side which is the on court stuff (grunting, repetitive dancing... etc, which is what I don't like).

I have a better question....is the origin poster trying to hard to start some shit?!?Ha! Notice how that idiot didn't present any evidence (like a video clip or something) where it is supposedly proven how Petko is allegedly "trying too hard" to be witty and funny?

Andrea is a heck of alot funnier than Djokovic. I have no idea why people find Novak SO funny?! I find him a little immature. And I say this as a Nole fan lol.

I love Petkovic; someone with brains and an actual personality. We need more of her on the WTA!

I love Petkovic. I find her very funny, and fresh compared to most of the players. She loves tennis, loves winning, and isn't afraid to let people know. I don't find her dancing offensive, she seems very respectful of and friendly towards her opponents, and is a great interview - well spoken, intelligent (more than I can say for a lot of players) and thoughtful.

All Hail Andrea. ;)

I don't know if she tries to be Djokovic but yes, she's trying way too hard with this "I´m different..look at me!" crap.

Djokovic dosen't seem fake to me though. You might not like his style of humor (I do), but it does not come across as fake.

Well, Novak is a big believer in primitive humor and looking for physical gags to make people laugh. Hence, a clown.

Andrea has shown to be witty and sharp with jokes, but she waters it down with retarded in your face dance moves and some of the physical gags she does on-off the court.

It's more like Djokovic is trying to be like Andrea but he isn't sophisticated enough to pull it off.

Petko always says she don´t want to become one of this stonefaced players without having fun on and off-court
she need some distraction from Tennis offcourt
so hate her for having fun out there

This. Although it doesn't surprise me that a Caro fan finds Djokovic funny. ;)

I used to hate Djokovic, and I'm still annoyed that he beat Nadal at Wimby, but he's a legitimate #1 and a pretty nice guy. Much of the hate he gets comes from the idiotic things his Mom says.

LightWarrior
Aug 26th, 2011, 09:21 PM
I think she's trying too hard but she's not doing it on purpose. She's all over the place. I remember her being interviewed on court at the last gdf suez Paris open she spoke in French about being so interested in politics, like she wanted to be Chancellor of Germany after she retires from tennis. But yeah she's a bit like Djokovic, she wants people to find her witty, intellectual, funny at the same time. You never know if it's real or an act. I resent that.

http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab210/_svetlio_/tennis/petko.gifOk that addresses the "funny" part of the argument but can someone show me an example how Andrea is "trying too hard" to be witty and intellectual and supposedly failing?

And by the way (as one or two posters noted) since when is Djokovic percieved as witty and intellectual?

That is news to me. I've never heard that outside this thread.

obnoxious and unsportsmanlike dance aside, I find her to have a great personality. at least from what is shown off-court and on TV.
